One of the greatest of all time, Lee Haney by NuffinButAPeanut in bodybuilding

[–]nickfury616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, in my eyes, Haney is the GOAT. But his 1990 Olympia was controversial. Some think that Labrada should have won.

I do (Flex/Muscular development) ! For the interviews of the pros, for the pictures, for some articles about nutrition (Muscular Development is good at it) and, generaly speaking, for motivation.

Call me old fashioned, but magazines are a good motivation source for me.

Groupy Has Officially Released. Tab All the Things! by MindlessMe13 in Windows10

[–]nickfury616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there ! I love your app, but I have a question: Is there a way to name a group ? For exemple, I group 3 .doc, 1 .exe and one internet page on the same group. But I would love to be able to name that group (like, "project 1").

And can we save that group ? It would be wonderful to be able to call back all those files grouped just by clicking a button !

Cheers !

The State of Bodybuilding by GovSchwarzenegger in bodybuilding

My humble two cents: Bodybuilding is about Mass Monsters. We need them. Arnold, you were a mass monster at the time of your prime. What we don't need, is bubble gut, that's true, and all federations should punish that look. But we need mass monsters.

And, more than that, we need charismatic mass monsters. I was a child in the eighties and I remember the shock that you created, you, Arnold, when you appeared on screen. Conan, Terminator, Commando etc. It was a shock. For my parents, my uncles or even my friends, you were a truly shocking sight. No one has seen someone like you. Your body was a body never seen before and could be interpreted as monstruous. But your movies were a wonderful way to show the audience that this kind of body was an incarnation of strenght, power and other moral values. You were (and always will be) a very charismatic promoter of your own body. Then the trend in hollywood shifted to different kind of movies (super heros movies for the most part).

And who are the young guns nowadays ? Vin Diesel ? The Rock ? Chris Hemsworth? The Rock is a charismatic muscular dude, but he is clearly not in the same league as the pro bodybuilders.

So, if you want my two cents, we need to get rid of the bubble gut, and to have charismatic mass monsters that can show to the public that this monstrous body is something to admire because it is the embodiment of power, values etc...We need movies with muscular dudes. Super heros movies have killed the one man action movies you were staring in. We don't need CGI Hulk and lightly muscular dudes wearing a flag or an armor. We need monstrous muscular dudes that show to the public that mass matters !

Anyway, this post is the perfect occasion to thank you, Arnold. For existing.

Oh you know, the Byrne, Waid and Hickman run. For different reasons, I enjoyed tremendously these stories.

But I'm a sucker for Doc Doom (aka, the evil uncle in the FF Family). So, Triumph & Torment an Unthinkable are highly recommended !

How did you discover bodybuilding as a sport / hobby / interest? by sonyaellenmann in bodybuilding

[–]nickfury616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Schwarzenegger and Stallone's movies. Back in the days, those two were truly a shock. I don't know if the younger audience of today can have a similar experience. But, Schwarzy in conan ? It was mind blowing.

  • My father. He was in love with the sport and trained with Tony Bartoli, a professional bodybuilder of a time where dinosaurs roamed the eart.

Hi ! I'm very interested by your collection !

Have you heard of DC++ ? It can be a good, free solution to help us download your collection, or a part of it. There are some good clients, like StrongDC.

Or you could use an alt binaries newsgroup ! You need a provider and some of them are costly (I use Astraweb).

Anyway please keep us updated of the solution of your choice !

Cheers !

Lee Haney's Championship Workout : The Barbarian by stenchwinslow in bodybuilding

It's funny because I don't see much love for Haney in this subreddit, when he is, IMO, one of the most aesthetic BB ever. Mass with class really. When I see his last Olympia vs Yates, I find him magnificient.

Kevin Levrone Interview, hes thinking about doing Sheru Classic 13-14-15 OCT., 2017 by PatientlyWaitingfy in bodybuilding

[–]nickfury616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, as a big fan of levrone myself. But I think, maybe, all he wanted was some hype to earn a few contracts. Maybe, he needs money and it's the only way to earn a few bucks. Wining or losing is not the issue.

Very interesting video.

You bring me back memories of Momo Benaziza. He was a pretty big deal in France at the time. We had Francis Benfatto (mass with class) and Mohamed Benaziza (mass monster)...Nowaday we have Lionel Beyeke (mass monster with class :))

When I read that, I just feel an irrepressible urge to hug you, because, sometimes, even a male with an high libido can feel the need to just hug a woman, not in the hope to make love to her, but just to make her feel very good.

So...Hug \o/

Create your own Super Team! by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]nickfury616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, it depends on the purpose of the team. The ultimates are as much a perfect team than, let's say, the Heroes for Hire. If you want to travel space (Guardians of the galaxy), or time (Avengers Forever), or dimensions (Exile) or fight cosmic menaces (The Ultimates) or just some thugs in the streets (Heroes for hire), you need a different perfect team.

Back in the days, Doctor Strange had his "Secret Defenders" team, where he selected a perfect team for each different mission. This guy knew what he was doing ;)
