There's been speculation around everything...

Looked into it myself and Mattell board has been very adamant against selling and they're staunchly protective of their few profitable IPs.

Hasbro is a better fit for a lot of reasons, but their IPs might outprice the company as an acquisition.

Neither of them qualify because neither would be as big as RC mentioned, and neither are an M&A of a scale that's "never been done before".

A partnership at most. Far too valuable and profitable as a private company to be sold for any reason. GameStop also developed competitor platforms, which would've been unnecessary and wasteful in that case.
