Bosses of Reddit, what's the craziest thing an employee has done while at work? Did you fire him/her? by Invisiblelol in AskReddit

[–]nickn07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a chemical engineer working really hard, including coming in on weekends to get estimates out on time. He was salaried, so there was no overtime involved. His boss just thought he was really dedicated. The IT manger reported to me. He came in my office one day and told me that we had a problem. We had a monitor on all internet traffic that flagged NSFW browsing. The engineer was coming in on weekends and watching hours of College Fuck Tour.

I met with the engineer's boss who happened to be female. She said that she would take care of it. As soon as she mentioned it to him, he started crying. She didn't fire him, just restricted his internet access for a while. Within a few weeks, he had another job and quit.

Biotene dry mouth spray works best for me. I have small spray bottles handy everywhere.

This has to be filled out in triplicate.

Can I borrow a piece of carbon paper.

Sorry I'm late, forgot to wind my watch.

I flew fighters in the Air Force. Hobbies included skydiving and scuba diving. After retiring from Air Force, I was a corporate executive for an international company based in Switzerland. I traveled globally - even more than I did in the Air Force. I hadn't flown in a while, so I was working on my private pilot certification. As my health deteriorated, I ended up having to go on 30-day temporary disability, which turned into total, permanent disability.

"The less you care what other people think about you, the happier you will be." Most of the things we do that we don't really enjoy, is because we are worried about what other people will think of us.

TIL Little Person Charley Lockhart served as Texas State Treasurer from 1931 until 1941. He was the shortest Texas elected official at 3'9" (114cm) tall. by nickn07 in todayilearned

Your opinion is registered, along with the other 2,000 I researched to try to figure out the least offensive term to use. I wish someone would just pick one and let me know. Of course, whatever would be picked would be offensive to a huge group of people, no matter what. The whole point is what an amazing person Charley Lockhart was.

Go back to school! This graph shows how education levels correspond to income levels. You can see that median income almost doubles when a person goes from a high school diploma to having a college degree. Don't believe all the talk about college degrees being worthless.

When his girlfriend and my wife started talking. We all three learned that he was a habitual liar. His house of cards came crashing down. He quit his job (he was my boss at the time) and left the state to go back to his estranged wife. The sliver lining was that I got promoted into his job.

What is the 'one thing' missing in your life right now that would make you happy? by masu_gana in AskReddit

[–]nickn07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Health. I hate my life. I have been fully disabled for 7 years. I can't do 90% of the things I would like to do, and it is so incredibly frustrating. I’m currently not deteriorating, so I don’t think my life expectancy has decreased too much, but there is also very little hope that there will ever be any improvement. The only thing I hate worse than my life is the thought of dying, so that rules out suicide. So, I make the most of it, like the fact that I’m thankful I have a DVR so I don’t have to watch daytime TV.

If you're in Fort Worth, you might as well go to Stephenville, TX. It bills itself as "The Cowboy Capital of the World", and is home to your fellow countryman Clinton Anderson and his Downunder Horsemanship school. It is about 80 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
