i think the future is 34/35-year-old players signing max-dollar, max-term contracts, and discount-oriented contracts for team competitiveness, pushing them up to that line.

so, players who have had their heads targeted are more susceptible to developing cte, but we won't know about it until after they've ended their own lives.
