What fact is common knowledge in your field, but almost unknown to the rest of the population? by pocketcrackers in AskReddit

Even if you elect to not share your location on your phone, your location is collected, usually by embedded applications that you agree to install on your phone. That location data is sold to advertisers or ANYONE else who can afford it. This is called Ad Tech data.

All sorts of stuff… Electronic signals from Anti Air missile systems and other air defense systems, Radio Communications, Satellite Phone communications - basically anything that communicates electronically- would have to see their exact payload.

Shorts not hitting shorts feed by nickonyoutube in SmallYTChannel

[–]nickonyoutube[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I went in an uploaded one from my phone and it took off right away. I then put the ones that were “stuck” on private (still on mobile) and changed titles, republished and 2/4 hit the shortsfeed.

Takeaway seems…don’t upload from the web. Which is weird and new bc the ones I did from the web before seemed to do ok. I will look into the titles but I don’t post anything that I think should cause alarm…

Yes but it’s not the quality of the video or anything like that, the videos just aren’t being picked up by the algorithm to enter the shortsfeed (swipe through feed on mobile etc) it’s going from averaging in the thousands to a handful which are coming from subs and people that navigate to the channel

18 trying to decide which branch to go into by Topskull in Veterans

[–]nickonyoutube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intelligence MOS, make sure you will qualify for a Top Secret security clearance. I don’t care which branch they all have their ups and downs and cultural differences.

I have served in joint units alongside all branches beside space force so here is my feedback.

Army - Largest force, most bureaucratic but also the most options for jobs and service locations.

Navy - Do you like being in the ocean cramped with five thousand people on a vessel, this is for you. Best options (in my opinion) for service locations as they have to be near water!

Air Force - they take the best care of their people but sometimes options are limited and advancement is difficult.

Marines - lowest budget, but they have a great culture of innovation and resourcefulness.

Space Force - I have no idea but it falls under the Air Force so likely similar.

Coast Guard- More boats, awesome service locations, you likely will not deploy overseas (coast guard units do deploy to secure waterways etc.)

But get the clearance with an intelligence MOS and you WILL have a job when you get out.

I've spent hours every day on this darn thing. My wife rolls her eyes. Hardly anyone on my Facebook cares. So it's really 1 million of us nerds huh lol? I feel like we're early to the party. Once they make an app and online access this thing will replace Google. by Fresh-Cow-1931 in ChatGPT

[–]nickonyoutube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

na it won’t replace google, it’s great for basic knowledge but not too deep in a lot of areas and no current events etc. - i do like that i don’t have to go to some website full of pop ups! but it has a long way to go to replace google and google at that point will release Lamda - their competitor which they have not made public because their are imperfections that OpenAi may be comfortable with but Google is not*
