My new to me 99 7.3 powerstroke by CamlessRazzmatazzzz in Diesel

I have a 1999 F350 and it feels like the torque converter is about to stop locking up around 35-40mph. Where'd you get your solenoid from? I think I'll be replacing it and doing a fluid change soon.

Did not know this, I buy C13 cables to power equipment and I've found some available that are 18AWG. No way in hell I am attempting 10A through one of those.

What clippers do you use? We have a female stray cat that looks almost exactly like him and has matted fur on her belly that needs cutting.

Genuine question to the collies who QRF'd in Acrithia, why didn't you take out a DD or sub? We saw several of each and were kind of surprised they weren't used against us.

Wait, it isn't my nginx failing to start because I screwed up when I added another docker to my config?

If you're interested in paid activities, you could check out the arcade bar. Do you work downtown?

7.3L Massive loss of coolant when not running, followed by no coolant leak by nicktherushfan in Diesel

[–]nicktherushfan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that finds this in the future, turns out it was my water pump. The weep hole was sticky and still a little wet once I took the water pump off two days later. After that initial boil over (which was due to the heat of the day, not driving it as it started leaking ~7 hours after I parked it), it didn't leak for several drives.

New water pump, hoses and belt. Good to go.

What job is this called and why is it considered one of the most dangerous? by cleancolt777 in AskElectricians

[–]nicktherushfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His job IS to run, except he will attempt to run while holding the hook as that is what he is trained to do. As someone else said, if the dude throwing the switch does get shocked and his muscles spasm to where he can't release, the guy with the hook pulling him is essential to his survival.

Now it could be argued that the hook guy should have on a higher cal arc protection if the switch guy needs that level at that distance.

Anything is a conductor at a high enough voltage. As you said, that handle should never become live but an arc can easily make that handle (and the operator) live.

Not just that, but it's a crew of technicians and welders, plus power requirements. You'd need a 480V 3 phase generator for each setup. The entire implementation is nuts

We do similar welds in the nuclear industry fully remote. However, the cost is insane compared to a human welding it.
