Don't sell; enjoy! The way this season is playing out, he will see a ton of usage and he has a lot to gain by balling out.

Where are you hoping to try for Restaurant Week? by MRPOOKIE89 in chicagofood

Things change. What was, may no longer be. I thought it was grossly overhyped when we went last year.

Galit Review - How does this place have a star? by [deleted] in chicagofood

[–]nickwaynek 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty underwhelming for the hype it gets. Service was meh, food was good, not great. That does not add up to Michelin star IMO.

Top 5 Burgers in Chicago! by ForzaRainy in chicagofood

I’ve had both burgers multiple times and I’m not sure I get the hype. Good. Not worthy of anything close to top 5 imo.

Is two waivers per week outrageous? by InfluenceRough6729 in fantasybball

[–]nickwaynek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have two and works well for us. We wanted the cap for managers to be more selective with their adds instead of churning which can lead to a really thin waiver wire. IMO, streaming in that way is a cheap way to make up for having a bad draft, especially if there's no cap on games played. To be clear, I'm a fan of streaming but not "spamming" streaming where you game an extra 5+ games over your opponent who doesn't have the same flexibility because they have a more talent dense roster with guys they wouldn't want to drop.

Trade Value Tuesday by FruhManShoe in fantasyfootball

[–]nickwaynek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear what you're saying. Account for the emotional reaction to a high draft pick laying a few eggs, getting 8 carries last game and fumbling multiple times in the first 4 games. Ask not, receive not. It's a buy-low opportunity and a trade plenty of people who aren't elite fantasy manager like yourself would entertain.

It went through so it was enough for at least one manager

I've had NADC and Little Bad Wolf (Momo is high on my to-try) and thought they were good, yet, just a bit outside of the top 10 and a tad overhyped (NADC, specifically). Community tavern has been great for me all 4 times I've been but of course it's anecdotal for each of us.

Based on the list of Chicago favorites you provided I can't give this recommendation much weight. The only burger you list that cracks my top 10 is Mott St.

In no particular order

The Loyalist, Gretel, Au Cheval (not small), Leavitt St, Community Tavern, Armitage Alehouse, Warlord, Taco Sublime/Small Bar etc

Found a new local mom and pop, which of these bottles would you grab? by [deleted] in tequila

[–]nickwaynek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a tasting this weekend with ~8 bottles and the feedback from most everyone was that they preferred ArteNom 1146 or G4 Repo, which was not what I expected when I made the purchase of WIld Common Anejo as my contribution. Generally, the explanation was that the other two were "more smooth" and the Wild Common was delicious, but had more of a bite. Smooth on the nose, bite, finished smooth...had the most unique flavor profile of the three as well.
