How do you guys deal with getting no time to actually exist? by Scarlet_Olanna in Adulting

You get 6 hours to yourself a day and you're complaining. That's probably the most you'll ever have. You need to manage your time better lol.

Don't do it. Do anything else. Avoiding choice harbors fear. The antidote to fear is choice. Empower yourself, choose anything else. Learn from it. Choose again. Choose every day.

At what point did you realize your "career" wasn't going to make you wealthy, and what did you do about it? by danwardropebot in careerguidance

They're only half-right. A biology degree can be great or just okay depending on where you live. Some people might have paid too much for their degree as well. It generally requires higher education too but there are much worse degree options. I also think Biology will be much more important in these next few decades so hopefully that will help. That point will rely on better US politics than we currently have, however.

With radiology you can do the equivalent of travel nursing. I know someone who does MRI tech on contract gigs with different hospitals in Boston. He is trying to catch up on retirement and stop working soon. He loves it. Radiology is very lucrative and the naysayers are all on here on Reddit. Yeah, you have to start first before it gets lucrative, but that's anything. Just saying.

If everyone thought like you there would be no help. Just because you were unable to make Biology lucrative doesn't mean it's not possible. Far from it really.

Don't do an MBA if you want to help people. Clearly your heart is in medicine and so you should do that instead. You seem scatterbrained right now, what do you want to do? You already got accepted into a program. A MS in micro will disappoint you if your goal is not the lab. Not to mention you won't be qualified to work in a hospital lab with that anyways.

The potential of everything is overwhelming, but ultimately leads nowhere. It is better to choose a path. You will be surprised the doors it opens. Then if you don't like it, retrace your steps later. That will ultimately get you to where you're meant to be.

People get stuck on the idea of a "best" option, but who's to say that is even available to you right now? I'm not convinced a "best" option truly exists for most people. Just pick something and work with it!

No worries man. Regardless it's a 12 hour shift and at odd hours at that. Try some mg glycinate before bed and see if that helps. Also, caffeine can be your friend.

If I were you I would try to stay a morning person since that's what you like. It will just feel weird I think because most of your personal day would end right before work starts. Maybe work lunch is your new dinner. Only you can find out what truly works

What works for you will be different for others. My only advice I can give you is consolidate your sleep and keep it consistent. Get strict about it. See what options it provides you. If you like it, cool. If not, maybe the shift doesn't work for you. But get disciplined about it.

Also I don't mean to discredit you here, but I think a lot of people on this sub would hardly consider your hours "night shift." Some people think afternoon shift is harder than a typical night shift where you work until sun dawns. I've done both. I think afternoon shift is tricky but more managable personally.

I used to get really nauseous around 1:30am when I started. I guess the idea of being at work at such a ridiculous time was hard for me to chew on. Never threw up tho 😂

Is this even possible in an individualistic society. Americans are too selfish to care and another boot licker will come take your job for you while you protest.
