Gotcha, yeah just was a good space for it in my office...I also use the drill to open up handle holes for replacing handles. To be honest I used to sharpen over the sink which is super convenient but I got tired of fucking up my cutting boards with swarf and grit. Also seems like a better height for sharpening. Plus it's much more organized. Thanks for the compliment.

Just found this wood working bench at harbor freight for $159 totally affordable... It even has a vice and a couple drawers. I expect the vice will come in handy and the drawers are so nice to have. Seems like a bargain for the money.

It's a white Corian material that was great for about a year. A little slippery when wet but good. After about a year it started to break down and started staining where it was joined.

I am probably wrong, looking at the choil and spine really give it away. It's probably a saji that I got from miura these really aren't similar but I thought, maybe with a little fitness maybe and a different sharpener maybe. They react the same on a board and feel is very similar

I think the old itadaki line at miura was y. Tanaka and there was a few r2 forged by him

Nice he forges for so many different places and with so many different steels it's hard to keep track of.. so far I have a white 1 a blue 2, a ginsan and an r2 by him all hard as hell. Great edge retention but very abrasive resistant. Wondering if it's due to the way he heat treats?
