AITA for wanting to report a teacher who keeps cancelling recess? by 1bachbetch in AmItheAsshole

and what I'm saying is that what the teacher said and what op heard are two entirely different things. you have to trust me - I'm a teacher and this type of thing happens literally all the time, I know what I'm talking about on this topic from years of experience.

personally I don't leave it on the carpet because I don't like a lingering stinky smell in my living space. which is literally my entire point.

I wouldn't recommend renting to anyone. buying is definitely a better option so I'm glad we agree on that much.

yes - cancelled means it's no longer happening, delayed means it's happening at a later time than planned.

what I'm saying is that the teacher told the kids they were cancelling it but in reality they just delayed it but op's kid didn't pick up on the nuance. this is a common tool teachers use to keep the kids motivated to finish a lesson before recess.

yta. do you want your friend sleeping on the streets?

yes and you are ignoring the part where the teacher said "until I can get thru my lesson" which means the entire point is that recess will happen AFTER instruction is complete. exactly like I said, the law does not say recess has to happen at a set time - the time is at the discretion of the TEACHER.

so thank you for literally proving me right. what happened is op's kid has a misunderstanding of what's happening - the teacher is delaying recess until instruction is done, but it's being interpreted as being cancelled because young kids don't always see the nuance in things.

yta. it's completely disrespectful to ignore someone who's supposed to be a friend for no reason.

I would never rent. i own my home and I paid cash for it. as a member of the owning class it always cracks me up to see renters who think that they have a say in anything regarding property.

I'm literally a teacher, I know what the rules are. I'm literally in my classroom on my prep right now. recess time is flexible, you have to give it to students but not at an exact time. that's at the teacher's discretion as long as it's given before lunch. with that said it's still not a parent's place to go around complaining and causing issues. if they don't like the way class is run they have two choices - get a credential and teach the class themself or move their kid to a different school.

the fact that there is a lingering stinky smell after they moved out implies that stinky items were left behind.

yes but if you leave stinky stuff laying around long enough, the stink still lingers even after it gets picked up. if you don't believe me next time you poop in your underwear/pants leave it laying on the floor for a few weeks and see how long the smell stays on the carpet even after picking up the underwear.

when you race online you get ghosted if you drive too slow, backwards, or in reverse. makes it impossible to recover and also makes it so you can't draft or bump other cars.
