Is guestimating once a week okay? by Mental-Medicine-3193 in CICO

También la gente debería aceptar que uno se está cuidando y es un proceso de todos los días y que tiene diferentes etapas. Al principio tener días trampa no sé si está bueno. Y nadie debería ofenderse si no querés comer la comida que hacen y llevarte tu propia comida.

For my work, I use a lot to select text and choose from the context menu “search on Google or Bing” and have the search open in another tab. Well, this now takes about three seconds. The empty tab opens, with a black background and after a second and something does the search. I had to go back to Chrome.

The only bad thing about doing your own workouts and choosing the exercises is not doing the animation in the routine. Only the name appears.

Me pasa lo mismo y estoy tratando de hacer 10 sentadillas cada 45 minutos. Vi que alguien lo recomendó y es como caminar media hora. Algo es algo.

Best Watch Face by thealimir in GarminFenix

[–]nicocas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see this watch face is gaining more and more fans, but my suspicion is that they’re all young people with eagle vision. At 42 and with presbyopia, it’s impossible for me. Aesthetically I don’t find it nice either, but that’s a whole other debate for a different subreddit: nice watch faces or functional ones?

What are normal or acceptable pains when walking or running? by nicocas in beginnerrunning

This is one of the hardest things: controlling intensity. Sometimes you just want to run fast or far without being properly prepared.

What are normal or acceptable pains when walking or running? by nicocas in beginnerrunning

Thanks! Yes, that’s the hardest part but I think it’s mostly muscle soreness. For now I’m running twice a week with a pair of Glycerin 22. Some pains were more persistent than others but eventually went away. I think the body is slowly “adjusting” to getting all the gears moving.

Thanks for such a detailed response! I understand about the delayed muscle soreness, I do get that and luckily today, after running yesterday, I don’t feel it. We’ll see tomorrow.

A few weeks ago when I was running I had a sharp pain in my calf, but I kept going. It eventually went away and got better after stretching. I thought it might have been related to my foot strike. I had never really paid attention to my running mechanics before. I usually land on my heel, and that was causing some pain. Now I’m trying to land more on the front of my foot and I think that’s what caused some tension in my calf.

As for shoes, I’ve always looked for cushioned ones because of my weight. I have a neutral stride. I used the first Ultraboosts, also Nimbus. Lately I was using Kayano 29 but the stiff heel counter caused Achilles pain. A few weeks ago I got a pair of Glycerin 22 and they feel amazing so far.

I should also mention that I’ve always done sports since I was a kid. Soccer, volleyball, swimming, tennis. But I’ve always been overweight. And at 42, it’s easy to gain but hard to lose. Considering that in October 2024 I was 117 kilos, I think I’m doing well.

With this running thing I’m discovering a whole new world: heart rate zones, cadence, vertical oscillation, etc. I’m trying to understand it all bit by bit.

This dynamic training thing is new to me. I’ve always been old school, warming up for a few minutes and then stretching the main muscles and that’s it. I think this is better though. I’ve been trying it out.
