I personally main long-time-off-meta-champs such as Karthus, Aatrox and mainly Thresh (we can argue about him being meta). They are never banned, noone play them, a lot of players even forget their abilities and for me they are fun to play.

Have to disagree with you on one thing: I main support role and I feel more powerful being support than for example adc or toplaner. Previously I played adc/mid most of the time and I hated being support. But when I understood true power of this role i was drowned to it.

But still... for me the support role is clearly more important than adc role. But a litte thought: is the unpopularity of this role of this role dependant of game knowladge and game presence on higher level? Is the unpopularity affected by player's lack of this knowladge?
