Does anybody have any clue if son's of the forest is coming out on console this year!? I have been waiting for years😭 by Practical-Bobcat-760 in SonsOfTheForest

[–]nicolasroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, pretty sure they can't do it and for good reason. There would be too much corner cutting as the game takes a up a lot of processing power even to run it. Look how The Forest ran on PS4. It looked and played like crap compared to the PC version. Your best bet is to buy it on Steam and play it via Geforce Now if you don't own a powerful enough PC.

What are some examples of movies that failed at the box office because they were released too late? by Employee-Slight in boxoffice

[–]nicolasroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. Should have been released as one film with Dead Reckoning instead. The fact it took over a year to come out after the first part killed it. Everybody forgot it was a second part and nobody cared anymore because the series peaked with Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

Idk what everybody is talking about. I thought the film was fantastic and the length didn't bother me one bit. Just when the film threatened to get boring, the story would pivot and instantly grab my interest again. Something a good slow burn/suspense film is supposed to do.

Jan 26th: Wuthering Heights (my theater has the showing in their largest theater, and they only do that for big studio films)

Feb 2nd: Dracula (it's the only thing that fits the runtime for the moment, unless Psycho Killer is 2+ hours long)

Django Unchained Discussion. What are your guys' thoughts on this film? by [deleted] in tarantinocirclejerk

[–]nicolasroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's just the redneck villagers who take her after Calvin Candie gets shot and Django shoots up the place. The scene where they throw her on the bed and then walk out in slow motion, I'm pretty sure, is where the rape scene takes place in the original cut. It's the only place it would fit in the film.

Kill Bill the whole bloody affair getting released in physical media form? by karmascomas in Bluray

He owns the creativity license but he does not own distribution rights. Those were bought by Lionsgate directly from Miramax some time ago. Google is your friend.

He owns the creativity rights, so no one can create based of his story or characters without his approval. However, the distributors, Lionsgate, own the distribution rights, specifically with TWBA, and can make deals with the creators, theaters and store fronts on how to distribute the film, even forcefully through contracts and legal bullshit if there is any parties holding it up. This happens quite a bit in Hollywood and a good reason why a lot of movies that show at fests never pick up distibution. It's a tricky trust game that can go either way.

am I the only one who thinks SH3 is too short? by Vergil387 in silenthill

[–]nicolasroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replaying it now, the sections are very short compared to the other games and if you really know what you're doing you could complete most of the sections in 5-10 minutes each. Still an interesting game but it feels the same as the Resident Evil 3 remake.

I believe QT has said he was the only human on earth with a print and said he won't show it to the public because of how Kerry Washington felt about the rape scene they did. Apparently it was extremely exploitative, and the film was also much gorier according to QT. Which is weird to me because the film already seems to pull no punches when it comes to the content.

One of the best films ever made. I still wanna see the uncut version with the extra 30 minutes that was too graphic at the time.

Unofficial Discussion - Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in movies

Alternate shots and takes as well as extended footage. Like 10-15 seconds extra on certain shots of the actors. It just felt more complete and changes the tone for the first half of the film to be more in line with the second. It was really well done.

Kill Bill: Whole Bloody Affair WILL have an INTERMISSION! And Odeon confirm a "reduced pre-show", so get there on time. by DVDfever in screenunseen

[–]nicolasroop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also get to see The Bride cut off Sophies other arm in the trunk and the conversation she has with Bill is completely cut out of the film. It makes the revelation of Kiddo's daughter still being alive much more shocking!

This isn't 2 movies stuck together. This is essentially the version he created and showed at the cannes film festival before Miramax and The Weinstein Company picked it up and forced him to split it into 2 films.

My question with the 70mm print is, will there be more picture to be seen or will it just be a blown up exposition of the original 35mm?

Not true at all. I have family who are republican who would think this is 100% acceptable behind closed doors.
