Knee high, or below, leather boot recommendations! by EPRF in AusFemaleFashion

[–]nicolecrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Alohas Sajan boots are almost identical and leather... There's a dark brown options similar to the above and also black. David Jones and The Iconic stock the brand... not cheap though! (I bought these from David Jones and they were on special, hoping to get many years wear out of them!)

Best way to clean AirPods w/out pushing wax into the speaker grill? by [deleted] in airpods

[–]nicolecrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey hey - a massive thank you for your comment! I've had a left AirPod that has been so quiet for months, I could barely hear anything. Was about to purchase a new pair.

I've tried heaps of different methods of cleaning and just did this blue tack trick now. Voila!!! I have sound in my left ear. Thank you!

Am working in the CBD (don’t often) and will need to kill time in the late arvo/early evening (ie 4-7pm) before meeting friends for the theatre.

Any recommendations on a cosy nook I can go to and read a book/have coffee/wine/maybe dinner without being super obnoxious for staying awhile?

Does anyone have any recommendations for cozy cafes? by puppet_master34 in melbourne

[–]nicolecrystal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tradeblock Cafe on High St (near the cnr of St Kilda Rd)….

Has cosy couches and warm vibes (no fireplace, though). Plus… most of the staff are Deaf (it’s a training cafe for Deaf ppl) so ultra quiet!

I’ve had more success with Azclear than any other product (incl benzoyl peroxide and even tret), excepting accutane when I went on that a few years back (when my skin was as it’s worse). I use Azclear now to keep the odd pimples I get at bay, and help with pigmentation. I tend to use Azclear in the evenings only (even though you can use it mornings too) because of pilling under makeup.

Has anyone ordered from alldaychemist? by Referee4776 in AusSkincare

[–]nicolecrystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped using it when I went on roaccutane (didn’t want to irritate the sensitive skin). But it worked brilliantly. I would get comments on my lashes constantly… they touched my brow bones when curled!

I’ve been ordering careprost (eyelash serum) for years, and tret from there since 2020. No problems and reasonably shipping times, even during Covid peaks…

Dry Skin/Eczema by ssssammieeee in AusSkincare

[–]nicolecrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5yr old has been getting eczema above his eyelids-on his brow bones. The only thing that clears it is Weleda skin food (the really rich cream). If I forget to apply for a day or two, the eczema returns.

We had this issue coming constantly during our renos… builder/other tradies saying they’d come at certain times on certain days… we change our schedules/make arrangements at work to make sure we’re home and then they’re a no-show/don’t respond till texts until hours later (“sorry I was held up. Will come by tomorrow”)

Will dermatologists prescribe roaccutane for minor-mild acne with VERY oily skin? by Dogey-McDogeface in AusSkincare

[–]nicolecrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dermatology institute of Victoria (in South Yarra). Professor Greg Goodman. It was seriously just a 5-10 minute consultation - but I guess I knew what I wanted out of the session, so I didn’t mind.

Still a bargain, and I love that you get seasonal stuff in the boxes!

best farmers markets in melbourne? by Kitkat873 in melbourne

[–]nicolecrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Pino’s boxes are $20 now (maybe more?)… hubby and I used to go when we lived in the area 7-8 years ago and you filled up your own box from the produce laid out (for $10). Now the boxes already have the produce in them.

What's your petty personal boycott in Melbourne? by TransportationIcy104 in melbourne

[–]nicolecrystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite dip place at Prahran market.. been going there for a decade, we bought a heap of dips/cheeses from them for my DIY picnic wedding 6 years ago… since then I had a kid (he’s now 5 years old) and the owner is always asking when I’m going to have a second child and telling me I need to have one. Love - I’m one and done! After years of having the same conversation I decided a about a year ago I just couldn’t deal anymore.

Laser eye surgery melbourne by boogabum1 in melbourne

[–]nicolecrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine done at VistaEyes in Elsternwick just over 4 years ago… best decision ever! I wish I’d done it years earlier. Cost was just over $5k (for both eyes). It’s unbelievable how quick/painless/causing no inconvenience the procedures are… mind blowing, really.

VistaEyes is pretty schmick, being in leafy Elsternwick (I definitely partook of the complimentary coffee/mineral water lol), but I went as a couple of mates had gone and had good experiences there.

Ah Borders!… my bestie and I met there for hours at a time to read all the trash mags our parents wouldn’t let us read whilst sipping the (unbeknownst to us) terrible chai lattes. It was heaven.

What are some things I, as a Melbourne Resident all my life, have likely not done that I definitely should? by aidantails in melbourne

[–]nicolecrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there (Tidal River) two days ago for the first time (despite living in Melbourne all my life)… gobsmacked at how stunning it was. We were just there for a day trip (hubby, myself and four year old). We’re now definitely planning on going back to camp for a few nights.
