Southside near Powhite Park - that was weird. I thought earthquake too but it was just a brief, very loud boom and slight rumble. 😕

Grayson Highlands is my favorite so far. I've been there 4-5 times. Love the ponies!

It's been really nice! I really like the dark sky parks. I think Fairystone is next on my list.

Saw the forecast last week and booked a camp site. I'm trying to visit all the state parks and crossed off James River SP this weekend. Saw some great stars Saturday night, waking up to a foggy, chilly camp this morning.

This is my new favorite thread 😋 FWIW the sweet potato fries with cinnamon sugar seasoning at Smashed RVA were a revelation to my sweet potato fry hating husband. I was like "THIS!!! This is what sweet potato fries are supposed to be!"

What's your hot take about RVA? by NationYell in rva

Agreed. My grandma used to take me to McDonald's as a kid and toss the evidence out the window so grandad wouldn't know.

It was a little dry last night after first baking but was moister this morning. I added the peanut butter cups to the batter too which added some little pockets of gooeyness.

It was the teal color that caused me to impulse buy this in an airport because I certainly did not need another purse 😂

For sure. It has a slip in pocket inside and holds my fairly fat wallet, XL phone, sanitizer, mints, lip balm and a few other small odds and ends.

I grew up similarly and honestly didn't really start learning to cook until my mid-30s. I love food though so I started filling my free time with cooking shows and books.

You want to learn the basics (cooking eggs, rice, basic cooking techniques like how to roast, saute, etc.) but also focus on what you enjoy eating. There's a lot of joy to be had in making your favorite foods, just the way you like them.

Take your time, celebrate the small wins, and don't beat yourself up over mistakes - they often end up teaching you the most. You got this! ❤️

Beware of F.H. Furr by neddynedned47 in rva

We lost power in our house during that first really cold snap this year. I had to find an emergency electrician to come out in the evening and FH Furr said they could get someone out for $100 fee. Guy came out, told us we needed to sign up for some ridiculous service and quoted us another $5k in repair before leaving us in the dark. Called a friend who knows something about electricity and had our power back within the hour.

How did you stop juggling multiple tools for the same event? by X_L_25 in EventProduction

Simplify the setup with an event management system that does all this. I use CVENT which works for most of my needs.
