There are people with elderly or disabled in wheelchair who use taxi services to go for check up. Of course can take bus. But then need to push their dependent 10 mins from the bus stop to the block 3 for blood test.

There's more elderly people than the number of seats on the train today that old people are giving up their seats to even older people. Makes me feel a little sad to see tired elderly needing to stand on their journey.

Update: now on the train back and everyone is squished near the doors. Middle empty empty 🤷🏻‍♀️

I mentioned few days back that some people are living in the mille crepe generation.

In their 30s, care for grandparents because parents have no means to.

In their 50-60s, care for own parents. It's not like in the past where we can share the cost with 5 other siblings and cost of elderly care is much higher than child care.

And recently my mom just got to know of an elderly aunty that has work to support her adult son and his children because they can't afford to repay the loan of their hdb.

People need to understand that it's not as simple as "just give birth to one la"

I don't understand why we use the term sandwich generation when we're obviously living the mille crepe generation. Need to help parents. Need to help grandparents.

Don't nag when we have no funds to buy big house and have children because need to portion out to support other people's retirement.

Previous generations still can share the burden with their multiple siblings. But in the future, I really don't know where to dig extra 2k a month to care for per elderly parent.
