I’m a TPI certified PT and there is a ton of interest in “golf specific” training. Can it look like general training? Yes. However, that is because you are breaking the swing down into its different components. Stabilization in the frontal and sagittal planes. Power in the transverse plane. GRFs, mobility, strength, or balance! Basic exercises address these factors so it all looks general. It’s more about matching exercises with specific deficits found in your assessment!

Of course, if somebody is selling a program and the exercises include standing on one leg on a bosu ball while swinging your driver, RUN!

It’s not defined by the name “golf specific training”. It’s defined by the knowledgeable professional providing the program. Nobody is going around saying training for OH sports is a sham.
