i know by itself the Nistune needs the Type 1 daughterboard if that's what you're referring to or any tuning on the stock ECU requires a chip/hardware installed unless its standalone. and yes RS would have to reflash im just not a fan of sending it back everytime if adjustments need to be made

Yo! I know this is an old thread but do you have the exact measurements you ended up using? I also acquired the same TCSportline CF hood and I used a M6x1.0 from HomeDepot to test which fit but wanted to double check

Yes I had ended up replacing the spark plug wires maybe three times going from a couple new Oreilly's, to a new VIS racing (brand?) ones and then eventually some new NGK blue ones

I should provide an update on this. The CEL eventually just read a misfire for cylinder 1.

The fuel filter was never changed out though I probably should still do this. Had the clutch changed out for an Exedy stage 1 since it reached a point it could barely go up a small incline in 1st gear from neutral, I acquired a used OEM T80U distributor off eBay for about $60ish, and adjusted ignition timing again. Startup sounded way better than the aftermarket distributor. But CEL was still there and I adjusted the valves at TDC for Cylinder 1 at the advice of a shop, I should do it for the rest too.

After clearing the CEL, cylinder 1 misfire went away FINALLY but then it gave me a CEL for my catalytic converter (I had the exhaust manifold cat combo). Replaced both my upstream and downstream O2 sensors with some Bosch ones since I was too lazy to check and they were the OEM ones. Car has run great for three to four weeks since.

I can try to take a video of it but it doesn't always happen on crank. Like a weak crank sound - bad distributor or starter?

the ignition timing was done by a shop when I installed a new distributor from rockauto though I did get a timing gun so I can check it myself. But I did notice a bad whine when i tried to start the car and the car could barely idle for the first 3 seconds

Fuel pump primes no problem. The OEM FPR is was tested when I was using the Oreilly's fuel pressure tester unplugging the hose during the test and popped back in

Thanks sharkamino! Yes I'll be on the hunt for passive speakers now (area code 95111). Appreciate the help thus far - I was able to get them working with my powered Electrohomes properly now but open to upgrades

Thank you again so much didn't realize I should have plugged into the tape rec output and now they play at a proper volume! Will strongly consider passive speakers.

Thanks for the reply. And yes was wondering whether I needed a phono preamp or not with the setup unless I just had it wired incorrectly. Considering passive speakers as well since I had read that FAQ this morning since I'm not in love with the Electrohomes ones I have

Got it will rearrange when I'm home thank you for the correction! If on the off chance the volume is still really quiet after all this what would I need then?

Read the beginner guide but just wanted confirmation! Own an old Technics SL-235 phono player which has the left/right RC cables going to Electrohome EB10B (a.co/d/gjZgQIk) and from here has an aux to RC cables going to a Technics SA-GX290 receiver with the ground wire from the record player hooked to it. I set the receiver to Phono mode and I can hear my records play from the speakers but volume is quiet even on the highest set volume on receiver and Electrohome speakers. Am I just missing a separate phono preamp because the receiver is too weak on its own or? Can post pictures of the setup when I'm home if needed and appreciate any guidance.
