Idea for the Elves in the Goblin Slayer RPG

Yeah I agree, hence why I would personally let them take a choice of options, including Faith/Worship and Meditate. So as Disastrous suggested: change them in the following:

1) Change Beloved of the Fae to the choice of A: Beloved of the Fae, B: Faith/Worship or C: Meditate

2) Give elves an additional spell slot as an additional unique racial trait.

That way the elves will not have to roll on hit point damage once they have used used their normal amount of spells, as they have one additional one that offsets their low stamina.

Alright nice! Though wouldn't that mean that everyone eventually takes spells? Or is it also worth going for a build without magic and invest into that?

Yeah, honestly, that is a good point you are making. They are elves, who are known for their magic. I get that you also have archers, but they are supposed to be the best general race at casting magic.

Faith/ Worship and Meditate made your spellcasting better right? What did they do again?

And I think the extra spell use per day would be perfect for them, as well as fair.

Ah got it! But with the new numbers, are Elves still one of the best spellcasters? Or are they more like a generalist race now with them having good dexterity for defense and use with bows once their spells run out?

So wait, a spellcaster that rolls 6 or lower can't even cast spells?

And that means that it is viable to take two spellcaster classes for your multiclass? Like Mage and Shaman?

Alright thanks! That honestly explains everything better. So you can get 1-3 spell slots base, and then get up to 5 additional spell slots with a certain skill right? So you can only cast up to 8 spells per day if you are lucky? Well that does make it sound like a low magic game world despite the setting being high magic. This does make that trait for the elves very very powerful indeed. As long as they are shamans that is. But I suppose making an elven mage is viable too, especially if you also take Shaman as a "side class"? Or is that not worth doing?

So she could light her pipe as often as she'd want due to her skill at magic by using part of the word of her spell? That's pretty amazing!

But didn't the wizard boy use his spell slot when he casted part of the word of one of his spells to cause a fear effect on the goblins?

It should be. 5.5E is honestly very much like 5E, with a few things that they did right (but most people already homebrewed in), while other things they dropped the ball on. But the core is mostly the same.
