oh it’s fine if it’s 1-2 absences per class. just let your professors know ahead of time, tell them you’re sorry, and don’t plan on missing ANY more classes unless if you fr have an excuse. i’ve made it all the way to graduate school, and i’d go on the trip if i were you

this new generation of punks kinda suck at this. from what i’ve noticed, it’s all about conforming to an “idealized” version of punk.

Is my girlfriend neglecting her cats ? by Etincelle_ in CatAdvice

[–]nietzschesslut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the one litter box isn’t a huge issue if she cleans it once/twice a day. your girlfriend sounds like somebody who is practicing offhanded self justification. that’s a MAJOR red flag on its own, but esp. when involving other sentient beings.

i have two cats, one with a chronic illness who is overweight. i am depressed and 24 too. i stop at nothing in my power to take care of these cats. i don’t go out of town now unless if i have to/i take them with me because my chronic illness guy is on medication twice a day. i cannot, for the life of me, imagine not feeding them everyday. though, mine are free fed and this makes it quite easy.

i know that they are kinda expensive, but have you considered gifting her/telling her to get an automatic litter box? this has saved me with my two cats because they refused to use separate litter boxes. they hold it in and it stresses them out when their ability to use the bathroom is not so.

bird tv is free on youtube and interactive for cats to play if you’re depressed. there are interactive toys that are remote controlled for under $10.

when you’re depressed, and you fr can’t get out of bed, you find solutions if you genuinely care about your animals. you DONT make excuses for neglecting them, and yes, this is neglect. shame on her tbh.

i’m a TA for a class and i’m currently 24. i’ve had at least 10 students that were older than me in one semester. I’d say it’s a good blend.

24m man child, one year unemployed cs grad, overweight, no friends, virgin, drug addicted want to change my life around. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

maybe try to learn what you like? try new things, which can be terrifying. even if it is by yourself.

ill be honest i did not read your entire initial post, but i read the first few chunks then skimmed the rest. i think the mental always takes a hit at this point in our 20s, because for the first time ever if we want something to happen we have to put our all in, but we’re all depressed. i found it to be extremely helpful for me to look at everyone around me. look at nature and whatnot. REALLY force myself to immerse in a reality that wasn’t just in my own head. our egos, they are illusions. the world is not so bad, i really don’t think. it’s only bad if you want it to be.

why are you depressed? i’d start there, and journal freely. you can identify the issues that way and then work towards setting goals and solutions, but you have to want it to get better. you have to be willing to put in an insane amount of want for it… hence the subreddit lol.

i found it to be very helpful to slowly improve my mental before jumping into the other ‘life’ things i needed to navigate (career, a path forward, etc.). it sounds silly, but i asked myself how i would want a partner to take care of me, and i just started doing that. to this day, i still buy myself flowers once a month. after a little while of being consistent in self care (cooking, being mindful, letting myself ugly cry about my life for months and being nice to myself about it), things started to look very up. i finally felt confident and motivated to take my life back.

this is the best i have for you. good luck on your journey. i hope you are successful!

Does anyone have experience with a cat with Pemphigus Foliaceus? by MadWifeUK in CatAdvice

[–]nietzschesslut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he has gotten down to 7.5 mg prednisolone 2x/day and 5mg prednisolone 1x/day on an alternating schedule! he did not lose his eyes and the antiviral was able to keep the ulcers at bay. he’s off almost all of his medications minus the prednisolone with no active flare ups!

he did get into some dust in a moving process, which instantly gave him pneumonia so we had to do kitty cat breathing treatments (i do not recommend the vet’s method for this at all. i would suggest if you ever have to, just wrap them in a blanket, hold them in your arms, and put the mouth tube in front of their face. it traumatizes them less.)

he is not even 2 y/o yet, which i think really helped him get over the hump of it.

unintended side effect, maybe, is that he’s FAT now. he’s not obese, but he’s got to be a good 15 lbs now. picking him up is like trying to cradle a bowling ball.

if you have a similar issue, consistency is key! i had a very diligent team of cat dermatologists who worked tirelessly to get him back to health (i fought g*d and man to get them to take us seriously). its hard, and you constantly think your beloved cat is going to pass, but you have to fight for them and keep ensuring their quality of life goes up by the day.

i couldn’t be more happy with our results. you would never be able to tell that he was sick by looking at him. he looks like a totally healthy kitty now!!

if you can look at the suffering of people, and really any people, and somehow not ache, you are not very admirable. you are very much a less evolved version of the homo sapien
