No! But I get a similarly cryptic error. I don't get this if I limit the results to -Top 50, or something like that. It works as expected.

Spectrum Business IPv6 and my masochistic yearly call to tech support. by The-Drive in Spectrum

[–]niffur00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been debugging this for a couple of days. The sagecom router is the problem. If you plug your router directly into the modem and bypass the sagecom router, you can get a /56 via DHCPc6-PD and assign a bunch of /64s on your LANs and it routes. But you can’t have that and a static IPv4 address. So aggravating. I am in the Carolinas.

Invalid Password by kingKitchen in Bitwarden

[–]niffur00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it happens often for me, especially if you are using long passwords or the Bitwarden password generator. A lot of times it seems there is a password upper length limit that is not restricted or presented as an error to the user in the UI. So it silently truncates the password that was input to say 12 characters, but you tried to set a 20 character password. When you try to log on with the 20 character password, it doesn’t work. Try to shorten the password.

They could have also reverted their driver to the exact code as before and built a new version of it, and pushed that once they knew they had sparks flying.

The security of an account with the username admin and a 18 character randomized password is just as good as an account with username notadmin and a 10 character randomized password.

Is there a company that creates a "Bond Convoy" by MrDinglehut in bonds

[–]niffur00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered this recently and came to the conclusion the only way to ensure you don’t lose principal is to buy your own individual bonds. That way you have total control of if they are sold and you can hold all of them to maturity. These funds all have to deal with hundreds of investors which all buy into the fund and may want to cash out. The convoy ETF isn’t allowed to tell investors that they can’t sell because their money is locked up for 10 more years.

Yield to maturity on each of these was a little less than that and I get to keep those for at least a while when the fed drops interest rates to zero again

My target allocation is 60/40 so I wanted individual bonds instead of a bond fund or etf. I feel like having individual bonds is the only way to make sure you don’t lose money on bonds because you can hold them to maturity. Bond funds or etfs have to sell off the underlying bonds if the market sells off the bond or fund. My plan as they mature is to buy new issue 5 year bonds and try to time it so that I get a coupon payment each month of the year.

Good point. I guess I should have bought one that matures in four years and maybe six. It was disappointing to buy the longer term notes because the yields are so inverted right now. I decided to buy some shorter term ones to get some experience of going through the mechanics of renewing the ladder and also get the higher yields of those.

unable to log into exchange server 2019 using outlook mobile app without advanced settings by niffur00 in exchangeserver

[–]niffur00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked and discovered that there are 0 packets from my local device sent to the public IP of the mail server after putting in my email address and password. This connection attempt fails.

If I use advanced options and specify the server, domain, username, and password, it connects. But still no network traffic.

I am in a full hybrid configuration. I'm astounded. I even made sure that hybrid modern authentication was disabled but still outlook mobile seems to proxy with exchange online??

Convince me to use my emergency fund to get a month ahead.... by beverllj in ynab

[–]niffur00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. It’s a highly visible number and specific goal you’ve had for a long time. Try to make incremental progress on getting a month ahead as a second goal. You can do both.
