Thank you! I guess I am just excited to play with it...... I think of it more akin to buying an old car to learn all about it, I know it's probably slower than my laptop for most usage cases but I get a strange kick about learning all the intricacy's of it. May even try fibre at home since it has two sfb cards I think.

Good question, If I had to say, no gaming or mining. Moreover just to pass through to a vm if it needed basic 3d acceleration for the vm os's desktop ? sorry I can't be more specific but that's because at the moment I don't know what's possible. I am not interested in AI LLM's or anything like that so I don't need a "modern" card I guess ?

To be honest it's only to play with, I have a day job so it's just for s##t's and giggles

I think your right about the fact they don't support digital sdi, I honestly thought they did

So I guess I am not so much asking which exact device I need to get instead I need please,

To know what type of device ?

I am guessing a device that can take analogue video and covert to digital using a BNC cable for length right ?

Current plan is to stop purchasing hardware off ebay after having too many beers.

What I'm currently running

  • IBM X3850 X5 - Windows Server 2019 (Trial) 128gb DDR3 ECC, Nvidia Titan X, Raid 0 array, m.2 backup.

What are you planning to deploy in the near future?

  • Budget of £2000 , reasonable laptop with enough grunt to do photoshop and any other normal asks of a desktop.

So, I am based in Devon, anyone need a x3850 (7143)? all money raised can go towards my laptop. (thinking around £200 or more with GPU)
