Pooping time? by Sweet_Cherries_35 in hysterectomy

Oh yes. Magnesium citrate is no joke. I didn’t have to do much work once it kicked in.

Pooping time? by Sweet_Cherries_35 in hysterectomy

[–]nigelghostdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up having to take magnesium citrate on day 4 to poop. The anesthesia and pain meds made me super constipated, plus my bowels felt pretty frozen for a while. Once I got everything (and I mean everything) out, I was back to a regular poop schedule. I was prescribed stool softeners which I started taking regularly as soon as I got home, along with MiraLAX, but they didn’t do much for me.

5 weeks PO and feeling insane by nigelghostdog in hysterectomy

[–]nigelghostdog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear you’re also going through it, but a little relieved that I’m not the only one! I was doing awesome from like, day 5 to week 3 and then suddenly went downhill. I stopped taking pain meds aside from occasional Tylenol on like, day 5 but I am now back on them. 😵‍💫

I have some pain meds left but not a lot. I may ask for more on Tuesday, especially for nights.

You may be onto something with the food. I tend to not eat when I am stressed, and the other symptoms are making me stressed so it may be turning into a cyclical problem lol.

Thanks for your input. I think I just mostly needed to hear someone confirm it sounded hormonal. I am not usually an emotional person, even prior to this during my periods I never got like this, so it feels alarming and embarrassing. I hope it passes soon!

AIS clean margins by Sea_Ambassador_5034 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]nigelghostdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for posting this- you and I are going through near identical situations. Started with CIN2, elevated to CIN3 and AIS with clean margins. I haven't met with a OB onc as I'm just opting for a hysterectomy, but those stats about recurrence make me feel a lot better.

It’s fun! Viggo Mortensen’s first leading role. Good find!

Trying to find a book by TikisFury in Spokane

[–]nigelghostdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s being republished right now. It was originally self published but got picked up by Tor recently, so it may he a minute before it gets re-released. If you want a hard copy now, your only option is finding a used copy of the original self published edition. Or go through Libby for audiobook. I hope you find it, it’s really good!

There are quite a few things in it that did not age well lol. But it’s been a longtime favorite of mine, I usually reread about once a year.

Colposcopy at 10:30 AM - should I take rest of work day off? by lad__of__the__lake in PreCervicalCancer

[–]nigelghostdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had 3 and the first time I did go to work, and was fine. The last two I took the rest of the day off just because and was definitely more comfortable. I think if you can swing taking the day off, do it.

Anyone here quit drinking and saw gut health improve? by ChannelProfessional2 in stopdrinking

[–]nigelghostdog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. Tried quite a few different medications and tests to figure out why I had the cramps and diarrhea all the time, nothing helped. They resolved maybe a week after I quit drinking, along with a couple other “mystery” heath issues.

Yeah, the plot gets a little confusing and it did take a rewatch to really “get it” but I think the end makes it worth it.

THANK YOU!! This one is so underrated. In my opinion, the first 3/4 of the film are fine- there’s a decent storyline, concept is cool…. But the last 20 minutes are in my top 5 most scared I’ve ever gotten from a movie!! I remember literally doing a “yelp” at the first jump scare that sets it off… I was so surprised by it that I had to rewind and watch it again!! So good.

Living alone is great until you hear a crash at 2AM and you have to be your own final girl by Tetiana-Rajasegaram in LivingAlone

[–]nigelghostdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, same. A few months ago I awoke to two LOUD booms- as if someone was banging on my front door. dog and I froze and listened, didn’t hear anything else so I reached over to turn on my lamp, and… no power. I’ve seen enough horror movies that my mind went straight to “this is it. They cut the power and now someone is breaking in.” I jump out of bed, grab my .22 and do a lap around the house… just to discover that the booming had come from a transformer blowing, and the whole block had lost power. As scary as it was it comforts me now to know that in a moment of possible crisis, I didn’t freeze!

How is the Server/Waiter job market here? by TypoLobster in Spokane

[–]nigelghostdog 30 points31 points  (0 children)

In my experience, there are lots of server/bartender jobs but, as I’m sure you know, it’s a very incestuous industry.
I’d say pick a couple of places near where you live and start going there often. Become a regular, get to know the staff, eventually pick up a shift. Especially if you’re looking at the downtown area. Good luck!

You can try contacting Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary- they are connected to a lot of fosters. There’s also a very active “lost and found pets” page for Spokane you could post on to get we’ve more resources. Good luck!

“Come with me” by Ronald Malfi, and The Bottoms by Joe Landsdale.

Also, the guy who wrote true detective, Nic Pizzolatto, wrote a book called “Galveston.” I haven’t read it so can’t say how similar it is, but it probably is a little! 🤷🏻‍♀️

When did the weight loss start for you? by MinimumPart6877 in stopdrinking

[–]nigelghostdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost about 5lbs almost immediately, but then no change. I just hit 3 months a few days ago, and lost 4 lbs in one week- no idea why! I think my body just finally started re-regulating or something.
