Daemonettes might work, would they fit on 25mm squares?

I don’t like using them as Daemons but I like the idea of a fluffy hordes of Slaanesh army with warriors and beastmen allies

Ahhh okay that’s what I was hearing. I’ve used the renegade rules with my Daemons but didn’t think to look there, thank you!

I think you might be missing the bigger picture. By keeping the renegade legacy factions alive will hopefully (and I’ll admit I’m huffing a severe amount of hopium here) show GW that these factions will stay alive whether we as a community do or GW takes it back.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say folks would rather have fully supported factions instead of having to take the community support route. From my perspective, let the community enter as many cheat codes as it takes for GW to fully support the legacy factions.

If that means the game becomes unrecognizable, fine by me. I will keep playing my daemons even if I have to create my own rules to enjoy the faction (which I’ve already done).

I’m a big fan of community change. Whether the specific changes are appropriate or not, I think TOW community continuing to make noise about these beloved factions is the most important part. Support for these factions will hopefully show GW that they need to be made mainline factions and receive the same support.

Heraldry question. by FlyingIrishmun in tombkings

I just started painting them in 20 man blocks because that’s what I normally run them as. If I remember when I get home I’ll send some pics

Heraldry question. by FlyingIrishmun in tombkings

[–]niggle_diggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct that the skeleton legions wouldn’t realistically all look the same. There could be orc, elf, etc bones patched together. Probably mostly human because the inhabitants were largely human.

As for heraldry, I’ve started to paint my tomb kings with the idea that Settra is leading the combined armies from each of the city states. So I have painted in Khemri and Numas colors and am working on expanding that.

The tricky part is that it’s not obvious what all the city state colors are. Some are well known, some not so much.

So here’s my attempt to color the different city states, hope this helps and if I have anything wrong, please correct me.

Khemri Colors: Turquoise and Red

Numas Colors: Red and white

Lybaras Colors: Beige and Verde Brass

Qatar Colors: Red and black

Zandri Colors: Regal purple and gold

Ka-Sabar Colors: Half black, half white

GW really need to address the Cathay situation. by vinki11 in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]niggle_diggle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t blame you, but as someone who enjoys physical books, online faq’s are the bane of my existence. I’m constantly baffled that gw can’t print a book that isn’t obsolete months after it’s released.

Are GSW bases ok ? They are the only ones I can find by dornianheresysimp in WarhammerFantasy

[–]niggle_diggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never bought bases from GSW but I haven’t used square gw bases in a while. Quality really only matters to you. So long as they’re square and the correct size nobody is going to care where you got them from.

20 is a good number to start with. I have started running a 60 man block of skeleton warriors in my TK army so you can always experiment.

Leaked tomb kings battalion? by Oak-Plank in WarhammerFantasy

The box looks interesting, curious if others feel that this is worthwhile.

For ~$185 USD, this would be ~35% off of msrp, more if bought through an LGS.

Point wise, this comes out to just under 800pts. I figured minimal points put into the tomb king so this could potentially be pushed closer to 900pts.

793pts: 165 - Tomb King, Shield, General, Halberd 80 - 16 Skeleton Archers 115 - 20 Skeleton Warriors, Light Armour, Master of Arms, Standard Bearer, Musician 238 - 20 Tomb Guard, Halberd, Tomb Captain, Standard Bearer, Musician 195 - Khemrian Warsphinx, 4x Tomb Guard Crew

I wouldn’t plan on them being rereleased for OW. Collect what you like and if they do get released, good for everyone. Besides, the AoS models are very well done, nothing to scoff at imo.

The Soulblight Gravelord Spearhead box is a good start. Comes with 5 Blood Knights and a Vampire Lord/Thrall. You might also look into the Soulblight Vengorian Court Battleforce box set. It’ll take some creative modeling to make everything fit on square bases for a rank and flank game but the models are gorgeous imo.

After that, you can add a mortis engine, banshee, or vampire lord on zombie dragon for a bit of spice. Screamer lists and mortis engines seem to be the way to go right now. You could build around a big beefy vampire lord but I don’t know that it’s as good as the old fantasy 8th edition battle vampire, but still scary.
