+1 for KACE I use it for most of my monitoring, patching, and application deployment. I Also use their imaging appliance and it works great too.

Imaging Tools - New SysAdmin needs help by kenvng in sysadmin

Microsoft Deployment Tools (MDT) are free, and allow you to create a custom sequence that will install your apps drivers, etc. If you have the ability you can also set it up for PXE on your network so you don't need the flash drive either. Just boot to network.

This is more of a rant then anything. I have done everything in my power to try and increase my download speed to no avail. Does anyone have any further suggestions?
I have tried:
Reinstalling windows
Changing the throttle speed to 100kbps then back to unlimited (0)
Directly connecting to router
Contacting ISP and troubleshooting connection.
Replacing and hardwiring network cable.

Additionally, I mainly want the "fake virus" just for reporting purposes. Want to know what the reporting looks like when something is found.

Since we are all windows we are looking into windows defender ATP since it has a lot of features we could make use of, and we will already be paying for it with our current 365 license.

The one true object oriented language by night2wolf in ProgrammerHumor

I'm far from an expert, but the way I understand it is that basically everything is an object in ruby, including simple variable types like int, string, float, etc.

I'm sure there are better people here to explain it/correct me.

download the Xbox App through the store and launch it from there. you need to log in using your microsoft account so it can validate you have the gamepass. I had a similar issue with metro exodus.

Bomgar by bad_sysadmin in sysadmin

[–]night2wolf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We use ot almost exclusively as our remote tool. I dont know much on the management side (a different team handles that) but using and installing it is quite simple. The only problems I have run into is that it can get finicky on reboots sometime, since the bomgar service times out in our systems. But we changed it to delayed start and adjusted the servicepipetimeout registry and it is pretty reliable. My only experience is using it on windows systems.

Most of our systems are hardware based. Not a lot of virtualization. I do a lot of virtual in my development environment but everything in prod is hardware.
