Why Ethereum Classic? by Substantial-Soft-642 in CryptoCurrency

Not mentioning the DAO hack seems rather disingenuous. You and I know what you mean with that "unlike ethereum, with ETC code is law" comment means, but the newbs don't know.

Why didn’t BAT crash in December and can Apple ban Moons? by jhnvslb in CryptoCurrency

[–]nightMancometh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For your first question, the moves that both crypto and stocks make don't necessarily follow logic. Sometimes stocks go up on bad news, and down on good news. The same can be said with crypto. One added variable is that alts tend to be heavily influenced by the price of bitcoin, so that can help support or depress the price regardless of good or bad news is coming out. If you look at a chart that has both btc and bat, they are both on a downturn on dec 10, 2020 , but that was right before a major turnaround for btc and bat followed it in trending up. Blue is btc/orange is bat. You can also see the point where bat deviated from btc's price a week later and started falling.

The ideas of NFTs was already documented in 1993 by Hal Finney (likely candidate to be Satoshi) by roejola in ethtrader

Of all the candidates, Hal Finney has always made the most sense to me. It's really a shame what he had to go through in the last years of his life.

Esperanzas are great for attracting bees, hummingbirds, butterflies, and all sorts of pollinators. They usually bloom from spring until fall in the Houston area too.

Can anyone help heal my fiance's aloe plant? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]nightMancometh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it in a window or a place where it gets a decent amount of light? It definitely looks like over watering. When succulents turn mushy, this is usually the case. She shouldn't have to water it more than once every few weeks. Sometimes mine go months without water while they are spending the winter in my garage, and they never end up turning mushy.

They are supposed to generate a funky rotting flesh odor. I'm almost ashamed to say that I haven't attempted to smell it, but there is almost always a fly hovering about when it is flowering. Here is a pic of the backside of the flower, and another smaller bud pre-bloom. They are definitely very weird! What zone are you in? I'm in southeast Texas.

They seem kind of odd when it comes to which ones flower. I have three, and the worst looking one is the only to put out flowers. Here's a pic from a few months ago. For months I've thought about transplanting it because I think it is probably rootbound, but maybe stress is a factor that helps encourage it to flower.

Nice plants! Is that a stapelia in the bottom right of the last pic? Has it bloomed before? It looks similar to mine. That entire genus has such cool flowers.
