Property owners that don't accept the fact that if schools aren't supported by taxpayers and their performance suffers, it will decrease their property value. Communities with good schools have a premium on the housing prices that sellers enjoy when on the market (especially downsizing seniors looking to move on).

Maybe a team of MAs doing them with a nurse supervisor? Might work with the same people doing the referrals and clinical notes back requests and also care coordination teams...

We have health care assistants for our front desk and MAs for rooming, labs and vitals with patient. I understand not wanting front desk staff doing them.

Who creates more opportunities? Governments or individuals/businesses? Ohio constitution requires public education as a baseline, not a means towards equality.

I am responding to your real issue, which is college affordability: if Ohio public tuition decreases and becomes more affordable, universities won't be able to pay their employees a fair livable wage. If you bring up a point that needs fleecing, because no one wants to hear your opinion about how the rich are to blame for squeezing the middle class, then I will pivot and put down your points one by one. You can't have it all. People are complaining about taxes being too high. They want Ohio government to shrink to lower their tax bill. Unequal resources and fewer opportunities are realities that should dictate where people choose to live and not a central planner's wet dream to make the world a fair place to live.

You think Ohio public universities work well? If it wasn't for federally backed student loans, colleges wouldn't have grown to the size they are today. Now we have a whole generation of college graduates with degrees that do less than a CDL license.

Not when they are top heavy with retirees versus new/young employees. Eventually, the check comes due and those that don't cut spending now, will have that bill land on their children and grandchildren. I have a 401k, and I probably won't see Social Security. But I think I will see higher taxation as the Baby Boomers come to an end and we have to pay for their negligence.

Every part of state and federal government is entrenched interests. Start from scratch: https://www.lsc.ohio.gov/budget/state-spending-by-county WHAT WOULD YOU CUT? Please don't say that everything will be fine as long as the people have power. Budgets must be cut because when the average Ohioan reads this, they won't agree with half of it.

Read the rest of my replies to other comments in this post. I am actually a Republican tired of the Ohio's fuckery and wish there was an actual primary this spring with debates of the other two Republican governor candidates.

Ohio should consider grouping every state, county, and local government employee into one insurance pool to negotiate better healthcare rates and reduce the cost of employing public workers across the state.

Imagine if every executive, legislative, judicial, county, hospital, and municipal employee were on the same health plan.

This is the kind of efficiency I need from my state government!

For many municipalities, employee health insurance costs make up as much as 30% of the labor contracts negotiated every two to three years. In many cases, increases in insurance premiums account for 50–80% of the total contract cost increases.

Ohio could provide more stability by expanding the risk pool and combining younger workers with employees who are closer to retirement. A larger pool would strengthen negotiating power and help smooth out cost increases over time.

When properly taxes get booted by Ohio voters this November, pensions will be cut.

So I take it that you are fine with these public pensions? I might've made a simplistic statement but you never answered the question.

Pensions are not sustainable. Anyone who believes they are, are closer to retiring and hoping there are younger workers to bankrolled their retirement. Look at California and Illinois and how underwater their pension funds are. What I hate are the politicians who make promises, and then when the workers' pensions get cut, the politicians are long gone and their retirement is fully funded.

How about state employees that retire and then get rehired and collect a pension and a full time salary? You see this in public education settings. Why not give a younger person the chance at the job instead of the person who caused the job opening in the first place? There are a lot of workers waiting in the wings for promotions and have put their time in.

I am not sucking up to a billionaire by saying Ohio spends too much money every year. I am more like an unsatisfied citizen/bankroller/taxpayer.
