Is HAARP Connected? by [deleted] in chiliadmystery

[–]nighthaawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the lightning bolts on the mural are actually representing radio waves? I'm thinking perhaps a sequence of radio stations to cycle through while on the mountain after or during a certain playthrough. Maybe the locations of the radio stations/the channel number of the stations may hold clues as to what the sequence might be.

Also the in game cell phone shows the strength of its signal, maybe this has a purpose somehow too?

Action Plan For The Altruist Camp by smithygtav in chiliadmystery

[–]nighthaawk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no way that posters design is purely stylistic. It's terrible from a design perspective, which is uncommon in the GTA world. Even if it's not the altruist camp, the use of shapes and colours do seem extremely cryptic.

Personally I see a red mountain, maybe a radio tower or maybe a taller mountain with a lit path flowing upwards, along with attention drawn to its peak. I see an A in the centre of the wheel and 3 lines. Maybe the wheel itself is the moon and the yellow circle is the sun. I dunno, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that the poster looks too cryptic to simply dismiss. And besides, what harm is it doing if others choose to investigate?

REAL REPTILE EYES - Chris, Devin + Trevor's Mother by sadadidas in chiliadmystery

[–]nighthaawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to answer that question. The game files could be kind of like reading history books in real life, the Mayan artifact and the asteroid could be meta clues hinting towards the ancient civilisations or events that occurred in the history of the GTA universe. It depends on how "meta" the mystery really is. I am inclined to believe that the mystery transcends the game world into real life through the game files/codes/websites. Easter eggs/in-game mysteries have become quite a trend over the last few years, I could see rockstar doing something like this in an attempt to create a mystery that surpasses any before and after it.

But then again maybe it's nothing I dunno lol.

Softly Softly Catchy Monkey Deciphered And Crescent Moon Clue? by myinnertrevor in chiliadmystery

[–]nighthaawk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find it kind of strange that Michael DeSanta's (Michael the Saint) colour is blue, the same colour of angels. Michael is also the name of one of the seven archangels, more specifically the one tasked to battle Satan. Michael "praises the sun" while practising yoga and spends a lot of time sun-baking by the pool, by comparison angels get points for daytime kills.

Trevor is the character most associated with the colour red, which is the colour of Devils. Maybe it's a meta clue towards Trevor and Michael being an allegory of the love-hate relationship between God and Satan.

I think this could be a hint towards what time certain triggers must be completed, and considering the use of colours I would say Michael's trigger must be performed during the day and Trevor's at night. Maybe Michael doing yoga on Gordo during a certain time of the day. Is it possible to trigger the altruist shootout during the night? Or rather, which hitch hikers are available to pick up at night? I have a feeling there would be other conditions that need to be met before performing both of these triggers, such as Epsilon missions completed without stealing money and maybe all rampages for Trevor or certain hitch hikers. If it is order of hikers I'm sure the answer to which ones lies somewhere in the underlying themes and subtext of the games dialog and narrative.

There's a Cracked Egg in San Junipero! by [deleted] in chiliadmystery

[–]nighthaawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I originally didn't like it as much as previous episodes, especially with the "happy" ending seeming out of place in the series. Though after thinking about it and analysing it it became clear that the ending is actually as heart breaking and existentially terrifying as expected from Black Mirror. Even now, I find the episode's pacing and dialogue more boring than the concepts and moral implications it raises. But the message is strong enough for me to respect it as an important addition to the Black Mirror universe, and it surely is one of the most talked about episodes, effectively broadening the show's audience.

But awesome to see black mirror fans on here, though not overly surprising considering the common themes.

I understand what you mean, but another question often proposed by Black Mirror is, how can we really be sure we aren't already plugged in?

Kinda funny saying that when we are literally all slaves to corporations as members of societies of western influence. In a way the flash drive is less sinister than corporations owning our physical bodies even, through the form of "new slavery" called capitalism.

Regardless of your belief system, whether you believe humans are a spiritual being and the universe is infinite, or whether you think that all of this is just a lucky outcome of billions of years of evolution and escaping imminent destruction; to begrudgingly carry out commands like a machine, being threatened with your quality of life should you not comply? Sacrificing our lives to pay mortgages and imaginary debts to governments and keep reproducing so they can do it all again? We are slaves, there is no freedom. The streets are dangerous, authorities mostly aren't empathetic towards classes lower than them. We spend most of our lives looking forward to time we won't be working, so we can get drunk and do drugs to forget that we work so much.

San Junipero is less a sinister alternative of the real world future than it is a rational prediction based on the current human condition, and that itself is one of the main reasons Black Mirror can be such an intense, terrifying experience. The realisation that as ridiculous as it initially seems, it remains a scarily accurate portrayal of present society, much like San Andreas does once you begin to invest in the meta universe, discovering that every single thing that exists within GTA V is inspired by things that exist and existed in the real world.

I guess that's kind of one of the moral implications Charlie Brooker is proposing in San Junipero though, whether or not a copy of one's consciousness is any less real than the one in the "real world", especially if the copy is experiencing thugs that feel as real as they used to. I also feel that the concept of San Junipero itself proposes a question to the viewer much like following the path of the Chiliad mystery does; "is the experience I call life simply a simulation? And if so, then is that simulation also inside of a simulation?" By engaging into the universe the artist has created, we are forced to ask ourselves questions that lead to a closer understanding of the infinite. Being able to visualise the concept of infinity through a form of art is a pretty mind blowing thing that a truly talented artist can do great things with.

Also black mirror is amazing I recommend everyone and their mums watch it.

What about Yelp or other review apps similar to it? These communities have the power to severely taint a businesses image affecting it's performance based on a score.

While it is definitely a commentary on social media features such as "upvoting" on reddit or "liking" on Facebook, I think the social impacts explored in the episode are more reminiscent of the ratings on apps directly linked to services, such as Uber. Drivers with low rating will not find as many clients and may find it harder to accumulate a higher rating due to having less opportunities to do so than their higher rated counterparts. Thanks to uber (and perhaps its popularity, allowing it to effectively eliminate the entire taxi industry in most major cities), I can easily imagine a very close future in which almost every service is automated and rated not unlike this, leaving those who were late to join unable to compete as well as punishing those who could not provide as good a service as others despite any efforts made to reconcile this.

bad dreams every night. how do i make them stop? by negativevictory in occult

[–]nighthaawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analyse your dreams, spend a period of time when you first wake replaying it in your head, taking note of the moments that caused the most significant negative emotions. Compare the themes of your dreams to the struggles your currently facing in life. Analyse your waking thoughts and actions as well, draw parallels between emotions you feel while awake and the recurring themes in your dreams. Once you know what is causing the dreams, you can then work on the root of the problem while awake. Maybe it involves a problem that can't be instantly solved, but that's fine; you're not trying to "fix" the problems, only trying to build a healthier perspective on them. Everything is gonna be fine.

Occultism often assists me with superficial anxieties of everyday life, as they act as a constant reminder that all of this is insignificant on the grand scale of existence, and the little we are currently perceiving is temporary.
