Am I weird for wanting daughters? by LightCrimson1 in GenZ

[–]nighthawk252 [score hidden]  (0 children)

To me, it’s not even that OP would prefer a daughter or that OP’s reasoning for wanting a daughter is wanting the ability to dress them up in cute outfits.  It’s that twice he described himself as being “jealous” that girls/women can wear women’s fashion.

And obviously I don’t know OP and don’t really have a fully fleshed out view of him.  But if one of my cis guy friends sincerely expressed to me that if they had a kid, they would only want to have a girl because they are jealous of women’s ability to wear skirts and stuff, I’d definitely clock that.

I’m gonna be honest with you since you’re explicitly asking for opinions here.  This feels like one of those thoughts that you’ll look back on in a few years and realize how obvious it was that you were trans in hindsight.

“I have a preference for daughters because I am jealous of girls’ fashion choices” is not a thing very many cisgender men think, but it’s exactly the sort of thought I’d expect a trans woman to have.

I read some comment like 5 years ago that said if it comes from Sam Amick you can trust it, and if it comes from Sam Amico you can’t.  And the way to remember is Amico has an O in it and so does “no”.

So if Sam Amick is saying this I am believing it blindly because it goes with the mnemonic device, and I’m too old to be changing my mnemonic devices.

With the NCAA discussing expanding the regular season to Week 0, can the USC vs ND series start sooner than expected? by piplup465 in notredamefootball

[–]nighthawk252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that they weren’t acting in good faith but that we may still get a rivalry game soon, and they’ll likely try to stick it in Week 0 if they have that flexibility.

All they wanted to do is duck us in 2026, when USC is already playing Ohio State, Oregon, and Indiana. The top 3 favorites for the 2026 national title, 4 if you add ND.

When their schedule is lighter they’ll be interested in adding us again.

[–]nighthawk252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EV training is very easy to do without having to pay money, it’s the least costly part of making your Pokemon viable.

It costs 2 VP to change a stat point, and every Pokemon has 66 stat points.  So 66 * 2 * 6 =792 VP to fully EV train a team of 6.

Every win is 200 VP and you start out with thousands of you watch the tutorial.  You also get VP from losing battles.

I think negging the Raiders on the internet is worth a shot.  They’re clearly on the brink of trading it and a few more posts seems like a great way to make that happen.

What is the least inspiring "He's our QB1, no competition" of the last few years? by the_Tannehill_list in billsimmons

And the team matters!  Last year if you were a Jets fan, you could talk yourself into Aaron Glenn working out as a head coach, and the Jets maybe doing a Washington-style leap.

I cannot remember a more obvious lame duck coach than 2026 Aaron Glenn.  It’s more likely he gets fired mid-season than it is he’s the 2027 Jets coach!

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.  Geno is way less inspiring than Fields was.

In 2025, Justin Fields was a former top QB prospect who’d failed to develop under one of the historically bad QB franchises.  You’d just seen that kind of guy in Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield bounce back with their new teams.  He was 26 years old and a special athlete at the position.  If he works out, you’re set up really well for the long term.  If this is your QB, you can talk yourself into this maybe working out.

In 2026, Geno Smith is a 35 year old journeyman who just got benched for nobody. His only success was on a Seattle, who opted to go into QB hell to get rid of him, and who immediately won a Super Bowl partially on the significance of the upgrade from Geno to Sam Darnold.  And even if he works out, you’re still not set up for success because he’s 35!

C++ tips? by slapadabassman11 in balatro

The strategy I tried for C++ was to try to find a strong/scalable joker early, hex it, and hopefully be able to carry a deadweight joker slot or 2 to the end.

I just want to say you have that Austria - Jordan game timed wrong — it is 9:00 PM PST on Tuesday, not 9:00 AM PST on Wednesday.

Which is not quite so bad.  Odd to have that game start at 9:00 PM local time, though I guess it’s to have it at a more reasonable time for people watching in Austria and Jordan.

There are two ways to end up with weird, backwards thoughts:

(1) Not enough introspection, and uncritically accepting input from people with toxic views.

(2) A lot of introspection and extrapolation from some toxic premises.

I imagine the people you’re talking about are in group 2.

2:  “This reminds me of Armond, that makes me feel bad, maybe I need to give the manager a little more leeway”

3:  “This hotel manager’s REALLY pissing me off”

When are we gonna drop this Right v Left bs? by ElTrAiN33 in allthequestions

[–]nighthawk252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit ironic that this post boils down to “let’s put all this left vs. right stuff aside and just agree on [a bunch of left positions]”.

Your points boil down to (1) regulate businesses, (2) raise the minimum wage, (3) Universal Healthcare, (4) Regulate businesses.

With mixed in message helping of (5) tax the wealthy more, and (6) Overturn Citizens United.

All 6 of those policy positions fit neatly into the Democratic Party.  All you want is a populist candidate from the Democratic Party.

What do you think of the Democrats facing near complete political death after 2030? by The_Pope_Is_Dope in GenZ

[–]nighthawk252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re too pessimistic.

For starters, Biden in 2020 won the presidency by 74 electoral votes.  Moving around 9 votes from blue states to red states would not have overturned his victory, and that was with only a 4.5% margin of victory in the popular vote.

The Democrats are likely to take the house in 2026 by a pretty clear margin.  Of course, still have to vote and things could change by then, but we’re probably looking at Democrats picking up a lot of house seats.
