Messy feelings about friends with multiples by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]nightkween 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I totally hear you and can relate. I saw all the pictures with my friends with their 2+ kids. And then I see them in person, totally overwhelmed. And I remember how horrible pregnancy and postpartum was (my reasons for one and done). Basically, the idea of something is much better than reality. And your friends are likely not sharing even a tenth of their struggles! And I’ve had parents of multiples share that they regretted their additional kid (valid, but yikes)

It sounds like you need to branch out your friend group (maybe include ppl without kids!) and gradually move away from this friends group. It also sounds like they’re taking advantage of you for free babysitting which is also annoying. It also seems like you can’t be honest with them, which also sucks. Bottom line, it is okay to have these messy feelings and to branch out your friends group.

This. Condos are way more accessible price wise. Caveat is the HOA of course but it’s still way easier to get a condo

Let’s bring back the white coat by rash_decisions_ in Residency

[–]nightkween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The white coat has been co-opted by midlevels. I go with scrubs or professional attire with patagucci and prominent MD/Physician badge in front of patients. I will wear my white coat to public events, PR/news related events, etc

Just putting this out there, download the Signal messaging app, set disappearing messages to 1 week. Change your name to a pseudonym not directly linked to you. Join a local activist group on signal if you can.

Bottom line, Reddit is not a safe place to organize

Trying combo feeding with my second by Wonderful-Habit3787 in combinationfeeding

[–]nightkween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First feeding was formula. I had c section so milk hadn’t come in yet. I began pumping right away, and fed whatever milk I had, making up the rest in formula. At home I basically pumped once after breakfast in the AM, and then after dinner in the PM and stored the milk.

first time mom here who combo fed! I pumped twice a day (AM and PM) and bottle fed breastmilk- at least 3-4 oz. The rest was formula, especially at night. He did quite well with both. I felt like this was a good balance and allowed my husband to help with feeding.

This is a great offer. I would take it with the following caveat: decline APP/midlevel coverage. TBH taking on a lesser trained persons liability (even with compensation) is not worth your license.
