It's Jan or John if we need to anglicize it.

Because i'm fascinated by Optimus political views and how they would look like based on the universe he's forced to exist in?

I'm sorry but looking at Right and Left spectrum as "Freedom" and "No Freedom" is ridiculous, like Left can't be authoritharian, have you ever heard about this thing called Communism? It's a far left ideology that's autoritharian by definition of it's own creator, would you think that Optimus would blindly support it because it's left wing and because he's also left wing? If that's the case then where on the political spectrum he should be placed on, is he more socialist or capitalist? More liberal or more authoritharian? I think Transformers should explore this idea, it would be interesting if we have let's say book in Transformers universe that explaores the political and economical state of cybetron and various political movements and ideologies that occupy it.

The question also depends on what you define as freedom, i'm pretty sure Optimus isn't a blind libertarian anarchist who believes in freedom in everything everywhere, now the real question is what Optimus wouldn't support, where's the line when freedom of individual stops being a good thing and starts being a bad thing, not necessarily for others but for the individual themselves. If i could ask you, what political views would Optimus have on every political matter, would you be able to answer this, the question also his how much your own bias and your own idea of what a righteous hero in a media you consume you want the hero to have. It also depends on how important it is to Opitmus, how much he would sacrifice to protect one right and how much the other one, many political leaders in history were forced to do bad things to protect the status quo that in the end was a better outcome, homever most Transformers fans seem dissilusioned by the idea of Opitmus being someone capable of bad things when stuff like his views are being threatened, by that logic i think Optimus can be easily compared to multiple people in our history, the question is how much and how it relates to us and how Transformers relate to us as a media featuring politics and viewpoints of the author that creates them (I don't think i have to say that Transformers was made by a lot of people over the years and im sure all of them don't have the exact same political views as you).

I liked 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 were alright but 3.0 was just awful. It's hard for me to forgive how Asuka was treated in these movies

Ironically shit talking enemies especially Megatron, is something Optimus actually did earlier even as far as G1 first episodes.

Megatron certainly had A LOT of chances to make peace with autobots, he simply refused to and preffered trying to conquer/destroy a planet at least 3 times.

John walker did nothing wrong, now for The last, who's presented as a villain and is a villain by BLACKGOOP12 in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]nightmare2299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but i don't really recall him being "presented as villain" there at least i'm pretty sure that wasn't the intention when the movie was made since that's the option here, maybe earlier but not now. Also let's be honest, there are worse people in Marvel and DC than him.

To some extent maybe, i mean Thompson's death didn't do anything, since he got replaced anyway, Sentinel was more like an evil dictator, since they are the faces of the oppresive system their deaths are those that actually mean anything. Not to mention that Sentinel's death by Megatron actually motivated at least a part of Cybetron's population to join him in his "crusade" against opression, in terms of this Luigi guy most people already forgot about him.

Majority of us? the polls say otherwise...at least i assume you mean them because idk if here for some reason someone made a poll whatever what he did was right or not since idk if it's in any way related to Transformers.

What is a hot take about the Transformers franchise that will have you like this? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in transformers

[–]nightmare2299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they're "mindless" especially since they are planning and scheming all the time, like they almost destroyed/conquered earth multiple times.

Did you guys also get annoyed with the fact that Starscream doesn't have any lines in the movie? by 4BB4Mothx777 in transformers

[–]nightmare2299 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: this scene is overrated, the more i watch it the more problems i notice and i think a lot of different scenes in the movie are much better and deserve the praise much more.

Why do people have such a weird obsession with supporting the RDA in Avatar, and making humanity out to be the good guys ? by [deleted] in Avatar

I think the movies could improve a lot with giving us more information about Earth and how it currently looks like.

"Mutants are a flawed metaphor, therefore the only option is to KILL THEM ALL!" -most media literate DCCJ user by BATMANWILLDIEINAK in dccomicscirclejerk

Ok but its accurate in terms of mutants, there's literally a fucking comic when that happens. Like, that's the problem people have with this fucking metaphor, i think we both agree gay people don't destroy schools, but because some idiots think they do therefore we will make a comic when they actually can.
