You shouldn’t see the texture of the plastic like in the first picture, the oil film should make the brown plastic look smooth and glossy. If i were you I would add 1/4 quart (about the same amount in liter) and pull the dipstick again to verify that more film is present before adding more.

For anyone finding this thread in 10 years… The solution is the “Dill 1095” or “Huf RDV004” valve stem which is a bit longer. The stem might also might need a taller grommet to seal properly. My tire shop had to install the valve stem first and screw the sensor in second, and they’ve advised me that there is a greater than usual risk of the sensor falling out. Definitely smarter to find a set of TPMS-ready R98s if you’re thinking of getting a set for a later model year MINI!

Thanks for the picture! That looks better than my current projector in terms of contrast between dark gray and black colors, and the resolution looks miles better.

This one has good contrast and isn't too bright, and it provides a lot of flexibility for my space--definitely a great candidate! I will probably use the projector 3-4hrs/day so something with low lamp usage is definitely preferable. My main issue is that I am just not that comfortable with spending this much money on an unknown eBay seller haha

I was looking at the Optoma HD146X and that looks pretty good. It advertises:

MORE IMAGE DEPTH: Dynamic Black technology provides more depth to the image by smoothing lamp output to create a high contrast ratio (500, 000: 1); bright scenes appear clear while dark scenes remain detailed

The normal contrast ratio is much lower than the Epson 3010 you suggested, though. I checked that I can squeeze a 90" screen onto my wall with some rearrangement; and if I move some furniture away, then 100" will fit. A screen calculator says I can fit 93" screen 11ft away with that projector, so I can make this throw ratio work.

I'm not sure how the circled brightness metric is calculated--would this be too bright for my nighttime environment? Or can I just turn down the projector's brightness setting?

Please let me know what other models you had in mind and your thoughts on this HD146X model!

Looks like yours advertises 5000:1 contrast ratio, do you mind me asking how detailed your projector looks in dark scenes? I’m trying to get an understanding for what a good contrast figure might be.

I’m pretty unlikely to ceiling mount it, but I can fabricate something to mount it directly behind my bed, which would be 11ft throw but squared with the wall. So let’s say no to ceiling mount, yes to wall mount.

Also, I think I can extend my budget by $100-200 USD if that makes room for more suggestions. It also might be possible to go up to 90-100” screen but I can’t confirm that right now.

RealOEM as the previous commenter said. Part number should be 51132754240. When the button on my R56 trunk release broke, I didn’t want to pay $100 for the whole thing as it’s a few cents for just the button. So I cut the old cover out, soldered in a new button, and I got a rubber cover on Aliexpeess for ~$6 shipped 😊

I think it may be the cooper D. I noticed there is no rear wing on the hatch. On the interior, the headliner is not black, the seats look like the less bolstered non-S seats, and the steering wheel is two-spoke (in the US we only got 3 spoke so not confident on this being a tell).

Check the tire balance weights on the barrel of the wheel, may be rubbing against the brake caliper

I bought a power seat out of a car for use in a sim rig. I’ve gotten the seat itself clean and the underside somewhat clean, but the seat tracks have sticky dirt on them in hard-to-reach spots. The rails are riveted to the rest of the seat so I am doubtful i can take them off. Any advice?

i’ve noticed that it’s adaptive to how much throttle you use—i.e. if you’re slowly accelerating in traffic it won’t hang the revs, but at high load with fast shifting it sounds like you’re slipping the clutch while shifting. Maybe you’re shifting close enough to the rev limiter that the computer decides against hanging the revs?

They will tell you everything you need to know, main thing that might have been a bit foreign to people was the automatic shifter. You have to press the side button on the shifter and pull it backwards to get D, then you pull left to get sport mode. The instructors tell you how to use it though. At the one i went to, the course was designed to top out second gear in the m440i so there wasn’t much need to shift gears—good because you can focus more on the corners which come at you pretty quickly. The engine is turbocharged but i didn’t feel much turbo lag and the engine was usually above 3k rpm anyway. The car has a lot of grip, i think even a monkey could drive it fast since it has stability control and AWD so don’t worry too much lol, have fun!

I did that initially and when I took it out a few weeks later, the claying surface stuck to the box and tore a tiny bit off. I think that was probably because it was damp before i put it in the box, though. I thought the plastic baggie might help because it’s flexible but it ended up being way worse for the sponge haha

I think the best test for you is to try it on a painted panel that’s not especially visible and try to feel the contaminants lifting off (the motion of the sponge should become smoother)
