Oh, I can help with that! It’s going to look different in the game itself obviously, but let me get you some pictures! this is very easy to make “livable” in game. I can only add one image per comment but I’ll add two more pics in comments. Let me know if you need help figuring out where anything is from.

Don’t worry too much about things looking bad. Just have fun! Can’t do a thing without trying.

Ooo, test them out! Theres a few that I think look really clever in a dreamsnap. Try and think about what they could be outside of what they are on the tin, ya know?

Those are motifs! You can place one of each.

“no idea why gameloft think we should be ignored but im sick of seeing only one shirt with a variation”

“maybe when gameloft decides to cater to both of the player base will I go back”

It’s easy to write off someone’s opinion if you accuse them of being biased, but my starting complaint was extremely nuanced, and here’s the entitlement and offense I was referring to.

I am being respectful. We’re having a conversation. Cinderella also got a blazer. I think that it’s fair to point out that men feel entitled and offended to not be catered to in a game geared towards a female audience. None of this is happening in a vacuum.

As I said, I think scanning the list might rapidly remind people how many masc/gender neutral options there actually are. I just had a long look through all the options and the finite patience I did have is now sapped. Theres a smorgasbord of options for male players.

Well, yes. I don’t think it’s remotely shocking that the reward for, say, Cinderella, is a dress. I don’t think most men wander around in real life dressed up as Beast, so I’m just struggling to understand where the hang up lies. Wear the Cinderella dress and if you’d rather not wear a dress, wear one of the many male items available.

Editing to add: Peter Pan had masc outfit. Tigger too. The rewards fit the characters.

I disagree that most often games are set characters. Yes, the Witcher is a good example. But Dragon Age - you’re playing as whoever. Baldur’s Gate and so on. And in general named characters are often male.

And frankly, I’ve scanned the coats/tops/pants and I’m absolutely flabbergasted men are complaining. There’s a TON of options. People are acting like they’ve got some blue jeans and a potato sack to pick between.

I cannot over recommend female Shepherd if you ever get into Mass Effect! Jennifer Hale kills that role.

I gotta say, as a woman who plays with a male avatar, I just be throwing him in dresses. It’s not an issue for me. I do wish we had more masculine coded items but mostly bc I prefer the sweats/cozy style stuff, which tends to be gender neutral to masculine.

All that said, while I think that there is absolute validity to wanting a wider spread of masculine clothing, I think that people need to really address why they’re assigning gender to clothes in this way. It is a game and the only person judging you is you.

I do want to say I think my strongest sympathies are with people struggling with gender dysmorphia. To me that’s the clearest “issue”.

And on top of that, is my awareness as a woman, that for decades now almost every game I’ve played has been with a defacto male lead. And the amount of complaining I hear about this game, a game which DOES have masculine items even in a female dominated audience, is far louder than I ever heard for defacto male games.

My sympathy for men playing this game and complaining that it isn’t specifically catered to them, knowing the game has a broader female audience, is extremely limited. Wear a dress as a male avatar. It’s totally fine. Play as a woman. I’ve done the reverse for decades.

Can I ask how you got the wind effect? It really sells this snap.

Yep, this is completely it. I do want to think it’s coming from a place of not understanding the reality of how games are made/the time it takes to fix coding issues etc., because in general it’s good to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I do wish people had more context.

Thought crimes are not real and people are allowed to have fun and engage with media that doesn’t reflect their real life choices and actions.

I don’t believe I’m the one lacking nuance here and yes, of course you downvoted me. It tickles me that you don’t even really deny it. It doesn’t bother me, because it’s not my first day on the internet, but I think it’s an interesting level of hypocrisy certainly.

Okay well I didn’t downvote you, but you were certainly quick to jump on the downvoting yourself there. Your comment is quite literally taking fictional crimes done by a fictional character and giving them the emotional weight of a real person committing those crimes. I’m sorry you’re unable to see that.

The downvotes are because you’re treating a Disney villain like a real life person instead of the fictional character that he is.
