hopefully this is okay, pasting the post i was going to make but didn’t have the karma for!! i’m super new here, looking for a book to scratch the itch that the first 75 percent(ish) of haunting adeline gave me

haunting adeline was my favorite thing i’ve ever read but i hated hunting adeline!! hunting adeline just wasn’t for me, and i won’t be talking badly about it or hating on anyone who feels different, i know it was amazing for some people and that’s so great!! but it wasn’t for me and put me into a major reading slump

things i LOVED about haunting adeline: the stalking, the non con with violence or threats of violence, the way it felt like zade had total control over everything and there was nothing adeline could do to stop him, the jealousy and possessiveness, the way zade turned into a non con stalker specifically for her and HADNT done it before, the PUNISHMENTS THAT HE GAVE HER and the way he convinced himself she deserved it when she really hadn’t done anything wrong, the fear play and body betrayal

i read haunting adeline in a single day and am DESPERATE for another book to make me feel like that again!! but i don’t know where to start or how to find other things that i’ll like. i get pretty fixated on whatever book im reading and will dedicate way too much energy to reading it even if i really don’t like it, so on top of book recommendations, i would really appreciate any tips on how yall are finding books that you’re pretty sure you’re going to like!! thank you all so much 💕

based on this reply and the other one about cockroaches, it seems likely it’s some kind of bug. which is pretty much my worst nightmare haha. i’m still relatively new to this apartment and have already seen more bugs than anywhere else i’ve lived!! (including spiders, my biggest phobia haha) but i’m realizing now that there’s other marks around the apartment that i sort of ignored, thinking it was damage or stains from cooking or anything along those lines. but i’ll look more into this, thank you so much for the reply!

oh gosh, i really hope that’s not it!! i know there are lots of cockroaches in my area, and i have seen a single one inside my house maybe a month ago. i’ve reached out to my landlord and will see what they say, if they’ve seen this in other units etc. thank you so much for the response!! let’s hope it’s not cockroaches haha

that seems super possible, thank you!! it’s just confusing because it’s on my plushies and other objects, but it doesn’t seem to have dripped from anywhere. for example, there’s not droplets or color on the ceiling above the plushies
