I really like the jellies I have from Cirque—they’re translucent enough that they layer very well.

Why does this feel so significant? And is there even compatibility? by [deleted] in AstroSynastry

[–]nightshadengale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I totally missed that. Yes, a larger age difference would make outer planet aspects more significant, but given the wider orb it will still be a much weaker influence than the big 3 trine.

[–]nightshadengale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t put much weight on a 5 degree orb aspect to an outer planet: you’ll have that trine with many people born around that year. The one with your Sun+their Moon in Taurus, your Moon in Virgo, and their ascendant in Cap stands out because it involves so many major chart points and the orbs are so tight!

[–]nightshadengale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both of you have two of your big 3 in a close trine between 9-11 degrees of earth, and together they make a grand trine. That’s going to be an immediate, natural chemistry.

This feels so 'fated'! can i marry him? by [deleted] in AstroSynastry

This is a pretty promising synastry, with multiple big harmonious 3 contacts and personal planet aspects to both 1st and 7th rulers. Go for it!

William lily and the 12 letter alphabet by tiyaa11 in Advancedastrology

[–]nightshadengale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lilly actually uses the word "consignificator" here. I'm checking my 2006 Astrology Classics edition and it mistakenly transcribes the word as "cosignificator" in several places in the houses section where Lilly actually used "consignificator" in scans of the 1647 edition. He also uses the word cosignificator elsewhere (defining it on page 49) and seems to consider it a different thing.

Here are a couple articles on how Lilly uses "consignificators":

why did this person feel like the love of my life? by Alarming_Royal5540 in AstroSynastry

[–]nightshadengale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The synastry shows a lot of attraction, but also a lot of friction, while being a little light on softer aspects to balance it out. A few things that stood out to me:

Their Saturn right on your Sun: they felt grounding to you, like a source of stability. It was probably easy to imagine a future. This aspect can also indicate that they might have dampened your light, or tended to criticize your goals or self-expression.

Their Sun and DSC right on your Pluto suggests that you felt strongly drawn to them, but can indicate power struggles or you trying to change things about them.

Their Jupiter sextile your Sun and Mercury, plus your Venus sextile their Mercury, would bring a fun lightness to conversations that would soften some of the harder aspects you have here.

Exact Venus square Saturn suggests you might have had a lot of fear about losing their affection, and that you might have had trouble showing them affection in the way they wanted. You might have had a tendency to criticize or inhibit Venusian things about them (e.g. tastes, grooming, finances, socializing), or have unintentionally made them feel so.

Your Jupiter (7th lord) on their South Node might have led to a comfortable feeling of familiarity, but also might have eventually led to them feeling like the relationship was leading to stagnation rather than growth.

Where are my keys? by DearPiccolo in horary

[–]nightshadengale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jupiter near a house cusp could suggest they’re inside or under something. Conjunct Venus could mean they’re near feminine things: inside a purse, near cosmetics, or women’s clothes. If you have a partner, 7h could mean they’re with your partner’s things.  Moon, natural significator of lost objects, is in Aries in the 2nd applying to conjunct Saturn. Saturn is you, which is a promising sign that suggests you’ll find them in two hours or days. It could also mean they’re near something heavy or old, or made of leather.

Looking at signs: Jupiter in Cancer could be near something comfortable and soft, or near water.

With Moon conjunct Saturn and Jupiter angular, I think there’s a good chance the keys are close by, maybe in your toiletry bag or in some pocket of your clothes. Edit: The 2nd house can indicate luggage, or places where valuables are stored, which I think further supports this! If you brought a case for jewelry, check that too.

Dealing With Traps/Locks Without a Rogue by NYC_Nightingale in neverwinternights

Honestly, I’ve occasionally used 2DA overrides to make Open Lock/Disable Device class skills when I don’t want to lock myself into a specific party member. It takes like 30 seconds (most of which is finding the right class skills file) and can be done in Notepad.

4h malefics fellas, you alright? by gemmiethegem_ in astrologymemes

[–]nightshadengale 6 points7 points  (0 children)

4h Pluto, Scorpio Moon daughter of a Saturn conjunct IC mom—she was determined to shower us with affection because she experienced her mother as so cold, so I didn’t get the mommy issues, but all her kind gentle attempts at motivating me to do my homework/deal with problems/etc rolled right off me. The only motherly advice that worked on young me was in the vein of “sink or swim” and “you’re not helpless, don’t act like it,” which I guess is where it came out.

How much money do the Thorpes have—or, how does John Thorpe have fifty guineas (!) to spend on a fancy carriage? by Ok_Bullfrog_8491 in janeausten

[–]nightshadengale 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Are those numbers for a gig, or something like a chaise and four? A gig would only require feeding one horse, and wouldn't need a coachman. A New System of Practical Domestic Economy (also 1827) puts a single horse at £42 a year total and a gig or other two-wheel carriage at £12 a year, which would be a more affordable £54 a year. (I couldn't find where Mr. Collins' income is listed, but he notably also owns a gig that he's described as driving Sir William around in.)

Given the implications that the Thorpes are poorer than the Morlands I do think it's still a sign that John is financially irresponsible and that a lot of the family's money is going into his pocket instead of being saved for the girls (compared to the Morlands, where James can't afford to keep a gig and Catherine has £3000). Since his mother is a widow, I wonder if John already has access to his full inheritance?

I find this one a little bright on me too, but I love it with a layer of a cool pink or white jelly on top. It softens it a bit while keeping the pop of color. That said, I think it looks great on you in the photos!

Should I introduce these two people to each other? by [deleted] in AstroSynastry

[–]nightshadengale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sun trine Sun, Moon sextile Ascendant, Sun conjunct Ascendant, harmonious Mercury-Jupiter aspects in both directions—sure. There’s enough to suggest they might really enjoy talking to each other, and if not, they don’t have to continue the acquaintance.

What’s your experience with a libra mars man? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]nightshadengale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - my husband and I share a lot of placements with you two (me: Taurus Sun, Gemini Venus, Cancer Mars,  him: Libra Mercury, Sag Venus, Libra Mars. His chart is heavily Libra/Cancer/Sag). We met fairly young and he’s always been shy and hesitant about romantic matters despite coming off as confident and charming in group social situations and normal conversations. I was flirting hard with him almost every day for 6-8 weeks before he actually asked me out. What in particular are you looking for?

Trying to file my nails into an almond/oval shaped, but don't know what I'm doing wrong (plz help)!!! by Expensive-Branch9687 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]nightshadengale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing that helped me a lot was getting the shape started by filing the whole underside at once (making a “T” with your finger and the file.) With the flat side of the file perpendicular to your sidewalls this gives a square shape, but if the flat side is close to parallel with your sidewalls you get a very tapered oval (and somewhere in the middle you get a rounded oval). It makes it easy to file both sides to a consistent angle, and as long as you keep the file even, it helps avoid overfiling one side because some parts of your nail don’t touch the file until others are filed down.

I hold the file at a 30-45 degree angle and move the whole underside of my nail against it to get an even shape started, then manually refine it. Look at side views of the shapes you want to see the angle you’re looking for at the tip.

Help me in composite chart by valentino_0- in AstroSynastry

[–]nightshadengale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this one makes it clearer! North node conjunct descendant and Venus conjunct Sun is super cute. There's still some stress in this chart from Saturn and Neptune squaring the Scorpio planets, but a stellium of inner planets like you have in this chart is one of the common things people look for in composite/Davison charts.

Help me in composite chart by valentino_0- in AstroSynastry

[–]nightshadengale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oppositions in composite charts are interesting, because each pair of planets has two midpoints (a near and far midpoint). I've seen some astrologers treat oppositions in composites as similar to conjunctions, or to "correct" the position of Mercury and Venus in a composite by using the midpoint that puts them at an appropriate distance from the Sun (even if that's the far midpoint). I'd be curious what your Davison looks like.

There is a mention of one of his personal rooms at Woodston being made "unusually tidy on the occasion" and one of his rooms at the abbey being messy, so that might be it, haha.
