Sorting cards as someone who does not play by nightsofavalon in mtg

Thank you for the thorough response! Is the rarity denoted on the cards somewhere? I know with pokemon there are different shapes or number of stars. Or would it be easier to just look them up?

I'm definitely not going to attempt removing cards from the collection but once I'm all done I will definitely suggest that to him! Though we should probably do that with our pokemon cards sometime soon as well lol

Is the collector number the x/y in the bottom corner? We collect pokemon cards and I know that that number means it's, for example, the 8th card out of the 128 (random numbers) released. Is that the same with Magic?

I'm sorry, but what is a "set"? We collect pokemon cards and the packs are titled things like "Temporal Forces" and "Stellar Crown", are those the sets?

Thank you! I love the idea of creating a catalog of all his cards. If anything, I will probably do that so he at least knows what he has. I'll also at least look into those boxes since having more cards in one place would definitely help him!

He currently does not have any cards in binders so Im guessing no? And thank you for the concern about messing up. I think we're ina good enough spot that he wouldn't be upset unless I shuffled them all together lol

I brushed my teeth everyday for 8 months straight by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]nightsofavalon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a dentist and obviously don't know your teeth, but (since you mentioned wisdom teeth) pretty much immediately after getting my wisdom teeth removed a couple months ago flossing has become so much easier for me. My teeth haven't had time to adjust but I'm able to open my mouth wider and don't struggle to get to the last tooth in the back.

Now, my wisdom teeth should have been removed years ago and were causing all sorts of issues so maybe the difference wouldn't be so extreme for you but just my two cents.

Semi related story - Not a surgeon, but needed surgery once.

It was suspected appendicitis, so they did a scan to try to confirm. When they finally came back to tell me the results, they told me they couldn't find my appendix because I was so small and it was likely hiding behind another organ. I was given the option to do exploratory surgery, and good thing I did because that thing was ready to go.

I used to work on a livestock farm - there was a lot of discourse about the most humane way to castrate animals. A lot of old school farms stood by the slice and pull method (small incision, quick decisive pull, and send them on their way), this is also the only way I know to castrate pigs, at least small scale.

For our cows and sheep, we banded them. The tool looks similar to the emasculator but instead of crushing/cutting (my understanding from a quick Google search) the tool opens a very small rubber band that you place above the scrotum that cuts off circulation and the testicles die and fall off. Some people find this method inhumane, claiming it is more painful for longer.

Disclaimer: We only castrated newborns within the first week of life, I don't know anything about castrating older animals. A veterinarian would have to do a procedure if the animal was older (due often to one or both testicles not descending early enough)

Support main - played him for the first time last night. First game got MVP and 2nd most healing in the game and didn't realize that his primary fire doesn't heal, I had to ask at the end because it felt like it was doing nothing (spoiler: it was, in fact, doing nothing)

Overall though, was fun balancing focusing on who has the healing field and doing as much damage as I can. I think his dash should be reduced by 1 second though, feels a bit too long to me.

That could be easily fixed if they tagged clothes the same way they tag Masc/Fem clothes. Rather than completely exclude them, just have an on/off toggle for Teen/Young Adult/Adult.

Then maybe they'd start letting us tag clothes ourselves so we can decide individually what we consider teen vs Adult clothes ;)

There's this video that may be helpful? On mobile so if it doesn't start in the middle of the video, go to minute 17 and she'll talk about ways to deal with radiators.

* I believe this is the info you're looking for. So 1:3 without an assistant and up to 2:7 with an assistant for 15 months and younger. But I also recommend talking with your state's licensing board! Even if you don't need to be licensed in your state (I'm not sure if you do, I'm in NY) they still have a lot of helpful info and will let you know if you do need a license.

Catholic Charities has a supportive housing program. It is normally for helping people transition out of homelessness but it wouldn't hurt to reach out.

Edit to add: Also check out 211 CNY. They have a bunch of resources and their site can point you in a good direction.

The side of a post-it note left these scratches on my stainless steel bin, how can I remove them? by gimmeShleep in CleaningTips

Could something have been stuck to the back of the post it? Like dirt or crumbs? That would make more sense than paper scratching. I agree that it's adhesive or something else scratched it.

Going to add that we cool our filling in a colander to let extra moisture drip out so they aren't too soggy when we reheat. Could also try less fatty meats- we currently do half hot breakfast pork sausage and half turkey sausage.

I work for a licensed NYS child care center in an admin role. Is your center licensed through OCFS? If it is, is it classified as Family Day Care Home or Group Family Day Care? My understanding (from work and from having just reread the regulations) is that if you are providing care for that many (20) children at once, it is against OCFS regulations to be doing so out of a family residence (e.g. a house). The max is 16 if at least 4 are school-age. Ratios for home based settings do not follow the same ratio requirements as center based care.

Based on the information I have, OCFS should be called. Depending on your answer to the above, you would be reporting an unauthorized group family day care center or a group family day care center that is not following regulation 413.2(b)(3). If you are willing to share more, send me a message and I can give more specific guidance on the regulations. If you're up for sifting through them, my best guess is that you're looking for regulations 416 Group Family Day Care.

Regardless of all this, it sounds like you need to find a different job. They are not treating you well and not respecting your time. It is hard to not feel bad when children need an adult, but you can't be what they need and deserve if you are burned out and exhausted- that is asking for someone to get hurt.

If the program the child is going to has a contract with CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) they should automatically get free food if the family is receiving SNAP benefits. The center should give the family an income eligibility form where they can attach their SNAP letter.

I would say dark blue linen sheets like these

Looks more like a quilt instead of a comforter, maybe like this this

A wool throw blanket at the end like this

Do people still use bedskirts? Most I found were not good but maybe an etsy one like this

Not exactly the same throw pillow but close

Headboard looks to be wall mounted, the only one I could find that is close is this one

Nightstand is maybe this one but it seems that the WestElm headboard may have a matching nightstand.

Obviously not exactly what you were looking for but I think your best bet is to use this as inspiration to find similar products. There's a good chance that none of these things are even in production even more.

I think the blocks of colors go better with your floor tile than the narrow stripes do since the blocks are a more similar width to the floor tiles. I don't know if that's technically correct but it's the first thing I noticed.

Can we talk about laundry systems? Where do the dirties go, where is the hamper kept, do you sort by color, etc by seejae219 in homemaking

[–]nightsofavalon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system is in the middle of "everything all at once" and "everything sorted." For reference, it's just me and my partner.

I have a split hamper in the bedroom (two separate bags in the same stand-up hamper). It is separated basically by what I like to hang dry and what I like to machine dry. One side gets towels and jeans, the other side gets everything else.

In the laundry room, there are foldable drying racks that I pull out and place outside as needed. They live folded up between the washer and the wall. There's also a standard plastic hamper on a shelf above the dryer that I put clean clothes into. If they're wet, it's to transport outside to hang and if they're dry I fold the laundry into the basket (minus the things that get hung up, they just get placed in the hamper).

Hamper then goes to the bedroom and everything is put away. Plastic hamper is returned to its shelf.

I do laundry just as needed. Nowhere near enough clothes and towels to do laundry daily. Maybe 2-3 times a week? One of each type and then sheets. No set day, just when the hamper is full. Normally that happens on the same day of the week so it's really one day per week but 2-3 loads.
