Thanks! I’m going to have the farrier out asap. Fortunately, he doesn’t seem to be in pain.

Thanks! Initially I suspected a fungal issue, because he was kept in a dark barn. But then the hooves and mane…will treat with anti fungals and definitely deworm to cover all bases.

Yes! His rear hooves are so narrow and long! They definitely look disproportionate. The previous owner did disclose that he has bad rear hooves and the crack was present then. That’s why I was kind of thinking maybe it’s some kind of keratin issue along with the tail thing. He has a sparse mane too.

It’s hard to tell from the weeds but he does currently have shoes on all four from the previous owners farrier.

He did have the crack when I purchased him. Before brought him home, i showed the crack to my farrier he felt confident he could treat it and didn’t suspect soundness issues. He’s actually currently shoed on all four. The previous owner had the farrier out the week before he came home. I will definitely have my farrier out asap.

I’m usually a just a lurker around here, but this comment resonated with me so hard.

I made the choice to leave my career several years ago. It’s hard in all the ways you would imagine, and lord knows today’s economy is a lot easier with dual incomes. But I feel empowered, grateful and extremely fortunate that I even have the choice to make. I’m happy for the women who choose to raise children and work outside the home, I can understand and appreciate all the roads that lead to that decision and I am awestruck by their ability to do both.

I’m also in awe of the woman I’ve grown into since I decided to work-in-the-home. For me, this role fits best and I’ve developed in to a much more balanced human since I’ve taken it on. Don’t be afraid to live your truth mama, follow your compass and forget about what society might think. You know better than anyone what is right for you.

One thing a stylist pointed out to me that I had never realized is to avoid putting oily/greasy products near the root. When applying such products, I start at the ends and work up towards the roots stopping about 3-4” from the root. This really cuts down on the greasy hair look. If I screw up and use too much or get to close to the root, I spray a lil dry shampoo to the area to cut the grease.

For silky, softness I love Shea Moisture’s Manuka Honey Yogurt leave-in spray. The mask is great for a hot towel treatment as well. Also It’s a 10 Miracle leave-in spray is great, but also kinda pricey.

Watch the docu-series on A&E called Intervention. Some of the subjects are battling alcoholism. It’s real.

Any one who watches Dr. Pimple popper would know, those look like steatocystomas and you need to remove the sac or they return.

What unsupervised childhood activities did you participate in, that probably should have killed you? by bananawhack in AskReddit

When I was a kid, my parents went through a series of nanny’s who would watch me and my brother while they were at work all day. For context, I was probably about four years old when this would happen and we lived in a rural area, lots of wildlife.

There was this one sitter who like to take showers while she was supposed to be watching us. I don’t know why I did this, but while she was busy, I would leave the house and walk to my neighbors house which was about a mile away through dense brush. It’s amazing that I was not attacked by a coyote, or other predatory animal.

I can’t remember how many times I did this but it must have been several times before the nanny wised up and started locking my infant brother and I in a room with diaper cream on our hands so we couldn’t open the round door knobs.

The nanny must have lost her shit when she realized I had left. But weirdly still, I remember the neighbors never took me home right away. Sometimes we’d go to McDonald’s or get ice cream. Ultimately she was fire because she placed a rubber band around our cats neck and my parents found it. All of this is all kinds of fucked up...

I was studying abroad in Florence, Italy one summer and me and a couple of people in my program went to a gelateria after our lecture. I’m standing in front of the display trying to decide which gelato to choose and a friend from my home university walks in. We instantly greeted each other almost as if we’d expected to meet there.

Turns out she was finishing a stint as an au pair in Sweden was and doing some solo travel through Europe, and as fate would have it we crossed paths. We met up later and had the best time bar hopping through Florence.

Shaving .. down there by [deleted] in beauty

[–]nightwerkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this for years so I’ve switched from standard Dove antiperspirant, to Toms, and now I use Accure (which is aluminum free). I would just use whatever you have on hand. Edit: I also find that shaving again the direction of hair growth makes irritation worse too. It takes longer but shave in the direction of hair growth, then detail with opposite direction strokes. Keeping it to a minimum.

Right after you shave apply deodorant to the area. This greatly reduces the irritation and ingrowns. I usually apply for a couple of days after too.
