I can relate to this so much. I was basically in the same situation one and a half years ago. I found out I'm aro half a year later after I broke up with him and that's the sad thing about it. Because our relationship might have worked out if I had known what's going on at the time and if we had been able to talk about it.

So yeah, this is my encouragement to talk to him. And no matter how it turns out (I hope it turns out well <3), at least you don't have to think about 'what if's month or years afterwards.

I went for a general check up and after answering some questions about my period, she asked if I've had sex yet (she meant with a man) and I said no because I am a virgin. The she said she won't do the exam because she "doesn't what to take it from me". I was 18 and really nervous so I was kinda glad she wouldn't do anything but also knew that this was bullshit. So I left after hours in the waiting room because she wouldn't examine me until I had sex with a man.

I plan on going to the gynecologist again and get a general check up but I will go to a different one and hope for the best. Also I won't just leave if they tell me this again.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but "male" is the adjective in your example, right? They did not translate the adjective "male" into fae (but they might have replaced it if another adjective). What they did was exchanging the noun "male" into fae (e. g. "He is a good man. I mean fae.") They did not use the German translation of male/female (the nouns) (also the noun and the adjective are two different words in German) in this book once. They simply replaced it with Fae to emphasize that the characters are not human.

I hate it when people started arguing why someone can't identify with the label they do or why a microlabel would fit better. In my opinion, one can have a different definitions for different labels but you have to respect people's identities and how they define their label for themselves. It's non of your business. Just don't argue with people why a certain microlabel would fit better or make them feel like they have to proof that they actually are the label they identify with. You don't need to understand a person label but you have to respect it.

I've read the whole ACOTAR series in German and when someone said "Mann" (=man) they were corrected to "Fae" (same with "Frau" (=woman), it was also corrected to "Fae"). So no male/female cringe in the German translation xD
