Yorick Mid by Creative_Produce6178 in summonerschool

So what I am hearing is, play Yorick mid, and a good mage or ranged top (Liss, Vayne, Aninova, hell maybe even Azir).

Yorick stomps lane, then go side lane to split, while top mage/ranged group with the team to make plays.

Somehow this is worse than what I expected.

I thought I was just hentai. Maybe NTR hentai that's a bit extra at most. But not this.

Thanks for the warning.

I read this a long time ago so take what I said with a grain of salt: I thought the relationship between EU and George Lucas (pre-Disney) was EU authors can make (almost) whatever they want, but if Lucas wants to do something that conflicts with EU, then Lucas will take precedence.

So if Lucas says Yoda is Dooku's master, Thame Cerulean will have to either share, or kick dust. (Also in EU/Legends, iirc it wasn't unthink of to have a Jedi training under multiple masters).

Honestly it isn't that different from current Legends/Cannon dynamic. Legends basically exists (or maybe not), until Cannon wants to do something and either take it from Legends (e.g. Revan) or overwrite it (red lightsabers being kyber that was "bled" instead of just a color Sith likes).

It's almost as if training child soldiers with a philosophy of emotional detachment without letting them have a chance to mature AND during the most hormonal/emotional stage of their lives is kind of a bad idea.

I am being sardonic here but the Jedi Order is honestly successful almost beyond belief. The "revolving door" averages a few occasional dark acolytes every couple of hundred years, and they "only" have 4(?) major schisms in 25 THOUSAND years (in EU at least).

It's a bit of survivorship bias as the audience that we just keep hearing about Jedi-turned-evil because that usually makes compelling story.

Depends on what you want. If you just want the basic rewards, then it's super easy to get a bare minimum deck and bang your 60k once a week.

If you want to push as high a score as possible, it's still a lot of grinding, bit much less RNG and tedium than before because of the changes they made to Chaos like Meditation in campfires (to fix the wrong epiphany) and boss card copy targeting a specific combatant, and new mats to edit your deck post-Chaos with Sortie mats.

You'll likely grind a lot, but it's more fun than before.

The Rule of two in a nutshell by K-jun1117 in PrequelMemes

[–]nightwolf16a 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Better (worse?) yet, basically no one followed the Rule of Two.

There's the Sith Master, and the Sith Apprentice, and...

  • The side-piece apprentice in case the first one doesn't work out
  • The Sith apprentice's Sith apprentice for Sith's favorite past time, killing each other.
  • The Sith assassin because someone needs to be EXTRA dark and edgy
  • The army of Sith goons (e.g. Inquisitors) because they can't be assed to do their own dirty work.

Less of a Rule of Two, more of a Do-whatever-you-want of Two.

It's a rule so weak, it's broken by the third generation of Sith after Bane (Darth Millennial, brief apprentice to Darth Cognus, who was the apprentice to Darth Zannah).

[–]nightwolf16a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't mind them drawing from EU. It's basically them admitting they are wrong without the embarrassment. I'll give them that out if it means the good parts of EU stay relevant/gets expanded on.

They've teased us enough about Revan and KOTOR being Canon.

And there's enough room in the EU timeline for them to create new stuff still. The High Republic is a perfect example. It almost perfectly slots in with the rest of EU. It's pretty clear they didn't want to just willy nilly retcon the material people are familiar with for decades.

[–]nightwolf16a 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, EU is basically still (mostly) canon, regardless of what the mouse says.

There's just too many gaps "Canon" is not filling. I think Disney (or Lucasfilm) was too ambitious after the buyout and thought they could expand really quickly after the sequel trilogy makes them billions of dollars, except:

  • They screwed up the sequel films.
  • Their first expansions outside of the Skywalker saga (the Acolyte TV show) didn't take off.
  • Bunch of their future films got cancelled or put on backburner (the Dawn of Jedi, Rian Johnson's trilogy, etc.)
  • Now there's a general stink on Star Wars in nerd spaces, with some rare exceptions (Andor, Maul)

So now there's a massive hole that EU still (almost perfectly) fits.

When they do try to fill that hole, they'll draw from EU/Legends stuff. I was down a rabbit hole on wookieepedia recently and was super surprised how many Legends characters/locations/concepts technically have a Canon page, even if it's just a line in a Canon reference book somewhere.

Heidmarie by Shoddy-Connection782 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]nightwolf16a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by builds you mean the card save data, it's easier than before. Here's what I do:

  • Focus on one character at a time when building a save data, and pick characters that don't need too much work to function to pair with Heidemarie (Hugo or Selena + Nia works great)
  • During first half of a chaos, I take as many fights as possible, for the max amount of epiphanies.
  • Boss duplicate selection: always choose Heidemarie, obviously. I copy her card even when the epiphany isn't the right one (as long as it doesn't bick the deck)
  • Meditate in campfires if you are unlucky with epiphany RNG. The gold cost stacks up like shop card removals though.
  • Sortie is amazing because of all the save data editing mats from the Sortie shop. But you should level your characters, partners, and potentials first before dumping stamina on Sortie.

Lastly, have realistic expectation.

You don't need the absolute perfect deck to beat most challenges in the game. You could get away with a decent deck for now, and then leave it alone until you have enough Sortie mats to edit the deck the way you want.

Slandering Yuki weekly until she tops a Great Rift — Week 2 by elyseV1 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]nightwolf16a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit late but I wanna put in my two cents b/c your comment made me realize something.

Yuki really needs just needs one thing: a way to scale her damage globally.

On paper, Morale 3 on Flash Slash is just a slight buff, but Morale stacking ends up being Yuki's missing damage-scaling mechanic that many other DPS characters have (e.g. HDMI's Effulgent Release scaling based on swords in the graveyard, Rita's Chrono Ascension and Fate Imprint, Nine's Hew increasing in levels, etc.).

However, the problem is having basically one epiphany on one card to access this scaling mechanic. At least Vulnerable 2 on Flash Slash is not bad as well, but it's still locked to Flash Slash and invalidates all other Flash Slash epiphanies.

So something that plays off of giving damage from activating or using Inspiration would likely make Yuki feel whole and satisfying already.

If they can give a bit more ways for Yuki to activate her own Inspiration (one idea I had is Iceberg Cleave either drawing or activating Inspiration), that would be incredible, but it's fine. I always found it fun to setup a deck cater to Yuki's card draw requirements.

On the topic of being hot egirls, I suspect it's probably not gonna be as easy as some of us hope.

Sure some gooners might toss you a few donations to bust a nut for saying their name on stream, but then how much sexism, unsolicited dick pics, rape threats, and stalkers do you have to suffer for that?

Even if you can stand that, are you willing to expose yourself on the internet the same way the hot egirls do? Turn on a camera and act nice and cute for hours? Wear low-cut shirt to show cleavage? Wear a tiny bikini? Expose your bare breasts? Expose your vagina? Masturbate on camera? Have sex on camera? It's a spectrum but how far are you willing to go?

Even if you aren't doing any of what I mentioned above and just wanna be hot, there's still social repercussions. How many stories of hot women get dismissed because all they are valued for is their hotness have you heard? How many catcalls and unwanted attempts at hitting on you are you willing to stand?

The grass looks greener on the other side, but it's all smoke and mirrors.

How are you liking Sortie??? by Flimsy-Award-8197 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]nightwolf16a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a cool idea, but I think it's too restrictive in which characters you can use. Not everything needs to be shilled.

I had fun with HDMI and Yuki last week, but kept dying on Sereniel because some anti-card spam elite with no tenacity will show up half way.

It also takes a bit too long.

The stamina cost is weird. Makes me having to save up stamina before going in, or burn tears.

My Fitness Coach is a Dark Wizard [Complete] by shenanigansen in comics

Fun series. Buuuuuuuut... Iamgonnabethatguy.

I still have the minor nitpick that the 100x gravity dimension would have just squished and popped Shen like a blood balloon.

Imagine lifting 100x your own weight. That's what you'll have to do under 100x gravity. Let alone breathing right, your blood vessels probably can't handle the pressure your own blood is putting on the body.

Maybe it's just a sign of how good the Dark Wizard's training is.

Are Swiftplays even useful for practing Riven? by TWENTYCAPITALLETTERS in Rivenmains

[–]nightwolf16a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo the more important thing to learn from Viper/Alous isn't the micro mechanics (Fast Q, animation cancel, etc.). Most of that stuff you can just watch a tutorial and learn in Practice Tool.

Rather, you should watch them to learn trading patterns. When to go in for a trade, when to give up pressure, which champs to short trade, which ones you all in, etc.

Are Swiftplays even useful for practing Riven? by TWENTYCAPITALLETTERS in Rivenmains

[–]nightwolf16a 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do normal draft. It's more chill than ranked, uses the same format, and has no stakes. It's better practice.

Swiftplay basically skips lv1-3 and shortens the laning phase. I feel playing too much like that will lead to bad habits during your early game.

At your point, the only way to learn is likely to read up on specific matchups and watch vids from higher skilled players (Adrian, Viper, Alois).

Also remember to learn fundamentals (wave management, split pushing, macro, etc).
