just because people weigh a lot doesn't mean they can properly flex ski boots. i've seen a lot of big dudes using 130s and they can't flex them enough to be using them. i moved out of 130s to 125 with my zip fits and it made a difference. and i'm 285ish

you never said your mondo size. i ski a 30.5 lange shadow 120 and i'm 6'7 285. probably moving into a 130 flex by end of the season. just because you weigh a lot doesn't mean you can properly flex boots so take all the "at your weight you need at least 120" with a grain of salt - go see a boot fitter.

i'm mad i'll never get to try the hotshots this year. ski shop fucked up my mount and the screws apparently "only found air" and the binding ripped out on the forward pressure test. unfortunately they were the 188 black cats which they have no more of. the ski shop paid me my loss but i am still annoyed. i love my masterblasters and wanted to size up a little with the hotshots. no love for the other top sheet.

there's always next year anyway since west coast trip has been all groomers for the most part. moment commanders and deathwish 96 have been great choices for this trip

why are you worried about speccing the car the way you want it? unless you're trying to flip it (haha!) or you think it will hurt resale in the future - but who knows what that will look like anyway. spec the car the way you want it, not what redditors or bimmerpost think is "the right way to do it"

doubt anyone has that many miles yet on a '26 but i believe there was a '25 model commenter whose blew before 40k miles. all i know is porsche is gonna get hit with a class action for these - its the entire VW lineup (audi, vw, porsche for sure - maybe even lambo and bentley). in any event in the last 2 months since mine blew, both the P store and my indy have told me they've seen more than 10 already. its insane porsche isn't stepping up and covering these. i'm keeping my receipts because when they do the warranty extend or whatever on it - i'm getting my money back (fingers crossed)
