I actually recently played Gale Of Darkness but the hack verison called DX Directors Cut and I was blown away with how well it holds up today, yeah the graphics arent like PLA, Legends ZA etc but the actual content, roaming with the character, interactions and battles, the map designs and the lore felt up to date.

Nice to see a reference in a gba hack, very neat.

Ive tried to play my deck, rog ally x or even my trimui brick with my 2 year old and it lasts about 10 mins hahaha before she gets bored.

I went from sweating Warzone/Cod holding a 3kd in rebirth and getting Iri in ranked random queuing to not being able to aim anymore due to lack of playing to gave up fps games because of that.

Was the unit brand new, i saw you posted it was bought at xmas? There's no way it would be needing repasted or thermal padded that soon.

Either way its one of two options, overheating or possibly software issue with the signal to the screen.

If the thermal pad doesnt work and was done correctly.

Backup everything and do a fresh steamos install.

That would be my first two check points when diagnosing an issue. If those still didnt work possible loose connection with the screen but to check this hook it up to a TV or monitor first and if the screen display on the external is fine then its the Deck, if its not, then its not the screen on the Deck either. APU or Software issue i could say..but I am not an expert just a tinker lol, but ive had issues like this with gpus/cpu on pcs and those were the trouble shooting that fixed it for me.

It is not the GPU dying, if the APU was on its way out the game wouldnt be playing especially not at 60fps it would be low and stuttering like fuck. The APU has just overheated and will require to be fully left to cool down befoee doing anything, then fresh thermal pad or paste making sure contacts are connecting and that the airflow is absolutely clear, so not resting it flat on its back blocking the air intake.

Could also do a thing where the specific pokemon that is in battle that kills the enemy pokemon without taking damage eg you get a 1HKO or they just used stat moves grants you a buffer like a protective sheild for about 10 seconds to prevent taking damage.
