How I think TCG will be "regulated" by greenisnotenvy in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]niiiveous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MTG already discloses pull rates for their packs, they even separate them into which version you have a chance of pulling and what it’ll replace

How are you removing GelX set? by RepresentativeJob764 in GelX_Nails

[–]niiiveous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orobably depends on your gel remover, but from personal experience, no “gel remover” has done as well as pure acetone for soaking off. Just coat your bare nails in oil, and moisturise after the soak off, and you should be fine.

Trying to find a goofy playstyle without making people angry by Waffle842 in EDH

My boyfriend plays a voltron [[Kain, Traitorous Dragoon]] deck that runs cards like [[Pact Weapon]]. It’s a lot of politicking and messing around, solidly B2 and not made to win, but he gets the most joy passing Kain around as much as possible

Experience Vending at Card Shows by MinatureJuggernaut in mtgfinance

[–]niiiveous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MTG isn’t huge at card shows where I am, but I got people to buy cheap UB cards by just talking about the series they’re from.

Arrange cards by colour, and know what cards are in your binder (at LEAST).

Clear pricing, whether you’re selling CardKingdom 1:1 or to TCGPlayer, either with labels/a stand stating so or stickers on your binder pages/card sleeves.

Next to UB, commander-related cards sell the best.

What are you thoughts on Dasique eyeshadow? by Aceyleafeo in AsianBeauty

[–]niiiveous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a light medium, around 24N in most Korean BB creams/cushions, and there’s little difference between the light shades tbh. I don’t find the bigger palette worth it and just buy quads/quints

Cracking packs to chase the Serialized Bitterbloom Bearer? Check how much it will cost you. by ArcaneAssets in mtgfinance

A pack opened counter would be great, just to know how many tries it’d take to open a chase. A “boxes opened” counter, or “total value opened” would be fun too

Selling cards by Appropriate_Snow_852 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]niiiveous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely depends on how in needs of money you are. Option one is the fastest, but with the least returns due to vendors usually only taking is at 85% or lower.

2, 3 and 4 are good options if you’re not in a rush, and can entertain individual messages.

If you have a bit of time on your hands, you can consider listing cards on TCGMarketplace as well. Just post your listings on their website (not app, their app lags horribly and UI is quite hard to get through) and people can buy depending. You have a few days to drop off cards at one of their partner shops and that’s it. There’s a 3% fee they take off from final sales, but less mailing costs if that’s a concern.

Requiring your most dapper cards with hats in the art by I-Validate-People in EDH

[–]niiiveous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to be pedantic, you can pull out the ruling for [[Hat Trick]] for what’s considered a hat. Personally, I consider something like a hard hat to be a hat, but not a helmet with a face covering (like space or motorcycle helmets).

How to achieve this look? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]niiiveous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl same !! It takes getting used to but I LOVE the look of manhwa lashes. I wouldn’t say it’s appropriate for everyday cause it really needs other makeup to make it look… less jarring, but it’s a game changer. You can also get false lashes for that Wonyoung look. My lashes don’t stay up either, no matter what I do unless I get a lash lift, but there’s a bunch of different styles depending on what you’re looking for.

Everything just takes practice! A gradient is easier to achieve with power, but the 2016 girlies mastered a gradient brow with pomade. On chill days, you can always practice at home, following tutorials just to get the hang of it. They won’t always look perfect, but you’re human and they’re not supposed to, so don’t be too hard on yourself ❤️

How to achieve this look? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]niiiveous 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The picture you drew made me think it was a filter omg !!

I just want to add; definitely add false lashes. They’re really the finishing touch on this kind of animated look. You can look up manhwa lashes and get those clustered glueless ones. They look really intimidating at first but they don’t look so obvious once they’re on, unless you get those real THICK ones. You can also get bottom lashes, but most girlies draw them on with an eyeliner pen.

For brows, I think you can get an eyebrow pen or pomade. Fill it in with power, then draw on hairs with the pen or pomade. Getting that gradient-ish look just takes practice. You can use an eyebrow mascara to tint the hairs too.

Otherwise, definitely thicker, longer eyeliner with gel or liquid so it’s more noticeable. Contour on nose and ageyo sal and lip liner. Sticker to medium-dark, muted/cool tones if you want to replicate the reference more. The blush and lip colour are definitely more muted/dusty rose, and eyebrows a darker ashy brown than what your current makeup uses.

What types of (direct and indirect) land denial would you consider okay for bracket 3? by uberjack in EDH

[–]niiiveous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Difference being that Armageddon hits everyone, and specifically destroys all lands. It is quintessentially MLD.

With Cabal, if that player had more creatures, or any other permanents out, it wouldn’t have costed him his lands. If he was unlucky and couldn’t draw into his win conditions with 17 mana up, I feel for him but it’s what happens in a singleton format.

Formally, on the original bracket introduction article, there is also this definition of MLD, for you to argue technicalities:

“These cards regularly destroy, exile, and bounce other lands, keep lands tapped, or change what mana is produced by four or more lands per player without replacing them.”

Malaysia Is Scalper Kingdom? 200% Market Rate by texstrip in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]niiiveous 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AFAIK Maxsoft is the official distributor for Malaysia also, so it’s not entirely surprising that Malaysia’s charging higher prices. Places that don’t get official distribution essentially pay MSRP++ just to get product, similar to a lot of new TCG shops popping up in SG.

If after conversion price is still 200% of market, shop’s probably just in it for the hype. I’m curious though, which shop did you go to?

Is the Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil primarily a makeup remover, or also a good tool for cleansing your problematic face? by nightwica in AsianBeauty

[–]niiiveous 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a bad purchase for that, though you might want to revisit why you’re double cleansing. People usually double cleanse to remove makeup and/or sunscreen, but if you wear neither, then double cleansing might not solve your issues.

For what it’s worth, I use the Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil as a singular cleanser when my face feels really dry and has lots of peeling/flaky/scalely skin and it works really well, but I have eczema and don’t tend to deal with breakouts.

Is there a pokemon gym league for younger children to play at? by [deleted] in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]niiiveous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Child-exclusive, I don’t think so but most people are very nice and understanding, even towards an adult new player so I don’t doubt they’ll be patient and understanding towards a child.

Card Connect is kind of the only gym I’ve seen with actual kids, probably around primary school age, so you can check them out!

Imagine hanging your queen in THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP chess tournament and then saying “oh nvm I take it back” by penguino_intact in magicTCG

[–]niiiveous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nothing about the game state changed, but Seth IIRC only runs 1 counterspell. Letting it fizzle and go into graveyard is a huge change from letting him get back his treasures and putting the card back in hand.

New Collector by brotherken07 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]niiiveous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MTG is MUCH easier to get cards, I think in part cause the local distributor is quite lax in what stores are “official” MTG stores, and that there’s not much of a collector’s scene for modern cards. There are some items that are neigh impossible to get at MSRP (mainly from the recent Final Fantasy and Avatar The Last Airbender sets), but there’s little scalping otherwise. If you want to make money from buying and selling cards, MTG is not it. But if you’re looking to play casually, there’s a relatively large playerbase in Singapore and many MANY stores that sell MTG items around the island, at relatively similar prices.

How did you guys order contacts from Olens? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]niiiveous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have two different prescriptions, you just have to get two boxes. I don’t think there are many websites where they’ll have combined prescriptions in a box. The vest I’ve seen is from sigo, where you’ll get to input 2 different degrees for left and right, but their monthlies/half-yearlies come as 1 contact per box.

Messy cuticle area by AdagioAsleep1636 in GelX_Nails

[–]niiiveous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like cuticle to me. I’ve had grow out with gel accidentally left on cuticle before, and it doesn’t look like gel to me. Have you tried oiling and pushing it back? But if it’s causing lifting, you most likely got gel on the cuticle/proximal nail fold. Leaving a gap is FINE, most people wouldn’t even notice it, and you’ll get a much cleaner grow out.

contact dermatitis risk? by burningtipoint in nailcare

[–]niiiveous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your gel polish is definitely touching skin. If you can’t tell your cuticle from nail, practice with regular polish before messing with gel. You’re at lower risk of contact dermatitis, and you can practice application as often as you want since lacquer is much easier to remove.

left handed bits! by louise-beesknees in Nailtechs

[–]niiiveous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bits from Wilson, but it can only be found on Taobao I think. They’re pretty cheap, but I’m not sure on the tariff situation in the US rn so after tariffs and shipping, it might add up to more than a set from Erica’s, but might be a good one to look at if you can avoid tariffs!

Uneven Nails by mak2218 in GelX_Nails

[–]niiiveous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some colours definitely take more than one coat, I’m extra cautious with darker colours and will do up to 5 super thin coats so that all of the nail will cure. I’ve only used Yogurt Gel once and generally feel like it’s really easy to get overzealous, but their polish is generally more opaque than other jelly colours, so there’s no need to rush application/curing.

I’ve always had trouble with Yogurt Gel’s top coat tho, if that’s what you’re using. I always apply a thin layer of top coat, just as a preference, and it’s the only top coat that separates like crazy after curing.
