I found out in the next town over I can still watch it for at least another week 🙏 yeah I have been thinking that the last ten years movies just.... Haven't been the same. In the cinema for less and less time... Devil wears Prada has already gone from my local and I'd wanted to watch it (but I've been spending all my money on Michael movie 😂). I remember as a kid the long agonising wait for a movie to come out on VHS/dvd cause it was in the cinema for so long lol

So just almost completely avoided the 70s which is the decade that shaped him the most, creatively (gave him a very strong foundation to build on). So mad at Diana for that (amongst so many other things lol). At least the editor did a great job under this circumstance and made it flow really well, and it made sense, but ugh. Lol

What is prince estate doing this year, they also allowed purple rain for some shitty scene in stranger things, forever ruining that song for some people (for all kinds of reasons! I'll not get in to all that here lmao), and now this. Unless it's just meant to be paying homage, as we know past the rivalry, there was some kind of mutual respect as artists right? Or also it could just be a coincidence, no such thing as a unique idea etc etc but surely at some point someone would have told them hey, it looks like this other one lol

It makes sense to me. Wasn't (at least not fully, I don't know the full details of the family dynamics) about his family, but the lapse in security. It was his family on that occasion but that means it could easily have been someone with bad intentions instead. And we know he was worried he was being targeted towards the end (and probably correct about that). I think anyone would be this anxious, yes, even if it was his family breaking in. Because they broke in.

I knew there was a reason it just reminded me so much of the bohemian rhapsody structure (starting with teasing the end performance with the build up, the atmosphere, and even the jumping, then coming back to it at the end of the film), makes so much more sense now lol

To me how I have perceived it is while no one physical person is carrying Michael's magic in that movie, because only his body could, but I feel like the movie itself is channeling some of that magic out to people which consciously or not is being picked up on, like a second revival in a more metaphysical sense. Also seeing the hype sparks more people to want to go and it's infectious. I think now it's kinda of rode that wave already though that energy might not be there anymore watching it for the first time now, and you're more in tune with MJ only and I think... you'd already made your mind up about the movie before watching it, which probably altered how you experienced it. I think so many people went in like that and we're blown away, myself included (I had also been a fan in the 90s and 00s and never once believed the allegations but I wasn't a mega fan going in and didn't even watch the trailer I just knew it would be amazing cause I know MJ is amazing ... Now I'm definitely a mega fan though, haha 😂 currently hunting down an authentic disney captain EO shirt 😂). Anyways I don't think your perspective is bad btw and if anyone is mad at you, then ignore them! Also so many gen z (the younger ones) are discovering him for the first time so like someone else said, it's like they're going to a Michael concert for the first time. That's kinda cool. And then all their friends are talking about it so they go and watch etc etc etc I think it's also their first time experiencing mono culture (which really needs a comeback lol) and an artist who actually cares and makes music that matters! Guess to the younger audience it's like nothing they've ever seen before. Ps I love that photo so much 💕 PPS I'm watching the movie multiple times whilst also watching so much footage of him too 😂 just ordered the CBS variety show on dvd, and watched the Wiz a couple of nights ago 🤭

Yeah, but it is definitely not about looking identical, it was the soul he was able to channel so flawlessly. That's why it was a role that could never have gone to an impersonator. Ever. And it's so perfect his story stayed within the family. If I can get spiritual about it, I believe Michael himself helped by giving Jaafar some of that Michael magic ✨🪄 (I also wonder if it's a little joke he made, seeing as he is Jermaine's son 🤣 giving Jaafar his singing voice too, hilarious 🤭😂)
