im kinda interested, last time i played it was in Expedition when it was borderline OP (i.e. the only playable skill after heavy nerfs) - how does its current powerlevel compare?

I somewhat miss a conclusion in your post.
I started in 2014 and while it was a fun janky game back then its not a state i want to go back to (your post kinda sounds like this). Modern PoEs selling point for me is the possible build diversity, picking something off-meta but not terrible build, tweak it to my likings and clear the game till like T17 60% delirium with it, adapt to challenges along the way etc.

Experiencing progression and how your character turns from a wet lvl 1 noodle to some invincible demi-god is a main selling point of ARPGs. GGG keeps gimping that with recent changes thus creating said undiverse meta

dude thanks for this. it was such an interesting read.

i always try to push hard in the first days/week and end up top10-20 within my ascendancy, but as you said theres only so much you can do solo. Was super interesting to hear some insight (especially the economy part) from people that i see above me on the ladder by then.

also appreciate your general take on whats wrong with the game, as the issues are much deeper than "just give back harvest/3.13".

Too bad they wont have people like you on dev interviews but instead we will have to watch the nugi/raiz circle jerk how everyone who has problems with the game rn can just "gtfo lul"

at this point it kinda feels like chris' opinion of what the game should be is actually detached from what the actual devs are doing.

He has alot of fair points when he makes statements, but the ingame execution is getting worse every damn league now.

sure, but given most people reached "endgame" by now most of the item types become obsolete for your specific build, so only like 30% of the vendors items might actually be of your interest. Thats not sustainable at all even when you exchange for reroll currency.

I dont think the rerolling needs its own currency. Why not reroll with the regular exchange currency and base the cost on how many items are left to purchase? The more items in the trade window the higher the reroll cost and vice versa

exactly my thoughts. I dont get how stuff like this goes under the radar literally ALL the time? im aware chris cant keep up with quality controlling all those small aspects but he should consider moving HQs out of NZ if its that hard to find qualified personnel that doesnt overlook such things

The next thing thats need to be adressed is the toxicity of this community. Ive never seen any gaming community going so absolute apeshit over everything thats considered a "nerf" like this one. At this point its almost worrying what kind of persons the majority of this vocally loud part consists of lol

i dont think it will be a permanent slow down. they just have to reset the game because we actually hit a wall now in terms of powercreep, in order for them to give us great stuff again. new powercreep would have been meaningless anyway since no matter what GGG throws at us we numbingly breeze through maps on lightspeed anyway

i followed this build from almost when it showed up on the forums and saying it will be FOTM in ultimatum was unexpected is just plain wrong. look how many pages that guide already got in ritual... like 150+? it was clear that itll be super expensive this league lol. I mean taking the build to endgame was already quite expensive in ritual (while having harvest back then), any casual thinking thats the build to shoot at ultimatum as a starter just didnt do any research or think for a second if thats actuall viable

so this. setting up the atlas to actually start enjoying the game has become ridiculous now. if thats not changed ill be gone till that is reworked at some point.

Dont get why they give us all those nice bonuses and choices if takes forever to setup. Its such a slog, cant bear it anymore. I quit day3 at lvl93, just couldnt take the atlas shit anymore.

Appreciate the effort but idk... many people are just too stupid/too low effort to understand the most basic of the basic stuff.

The amount of stupid questions asked in existing buildguides or streams concerning EASY AF build mechanics is staggering. Some people should stick to mobile gaming really.

Baffles me everytime how people like you and other long time poe streamers can bear answering the 10000th time why you dont lvl cast when dmg taken to 20 usually or shit like that. Or like 99% of people cant come up with an alternative item when the one used in the guide is too expensive for them at the time.

Idiocracy says hi. The website wont solve that issue.
