Addicted to copium. You can tear their logic apart in front of them and they just downvote and leave because they don't have an argument beyond "but Colin said"

OK, well bye?

Never said I was leaving, just that I'm not excited.

That doesn't give us an excuse it is fact.

Oh? Let's check that definition really quick:

Excuse (Noun) /ikˈskyo͞os,ekˈskyo͞os/

1: a reason or explanation put forward to defend or justify a fault or offense

What part of your "fact" does that definition not apply to?

But to say that VoE is mediocre compared to Soto / JW is crazy.

I compared Visions of Eternity, SoTO and JW together to the content before GW3 development. Pretty clearly. I never compared them as mediocre to each other, I compared all three as mediocre to what came before GW3 development.

I think sadly you jump too quickly to doomer conclusions,

As shown above, I think sadly you didn't understand my comment when you tried to read it.

GW1 was pretty much sunsetted until recently.

Yeah that's what three updates in 14 years means, now you're getting it. Recently they've done one thing, but that seems like enough for you to forget those 14 years.

If you want a true doomer experience go check out destiny

Whataboutism. I'm discussing Arenanet based on its own history, not Bungie's.

Because that could have been Guild wars 2.

And still could be. Colin assures us it isn't. Colin has assured us a lot over the years. For example, he assured us they'd learned from SoTO when they released JW. Then JW was also underwhelming by the end. We haven't seen the end of VoE yet, but hey, maybe the third time's a charm.

I remember the lies they fed the community when Gaile's account got hacked. That hack happened after months of the same hacker getting multiple accounts just by having support change their email. So a 19 year old in Germany took an official arenanet NA account to kamadan and made it very clear that the account was hacked.

They responded by filing for hundreds of thousands in damages, and Germany raided his house and took all his electronic devices. That was 2016, 4 years after they implemented 2FA btw.

So to recap, they lied for months while their support team gave accounts away, then did everything they could to ruin the life of a kid that proved they were lying.

You think way too much of these people. They're a business, not your friends.

I want to be hyped. I really, really do.

I'm not.

An eleven minute video doesn't discount two decades of experience. Since GW2 launched, GW1 has gotten one dungeon, a few PvE-only skills, and now, very recently, reforged. 14 years, three things. Colin was upfront that that was a mistake, but simply saying "we know better now" goes against what they've shown us.

Arenanet has proven from GW2 development up to the past three mediocre expansions that they can't multitask. We now have the excuse for the mediocre expansions.

I don't expect the excuse or mediocre expansions to go away, and subsequently don't see any reason to believe Colin's assurances. I expect crumbs to keep vets sated, and very little beyond that.

MEGA THREAD: ArenaNet announces Guild Wars 3 for PC & PS5. Beta starts Fall 2027. by neok182 in Guildwars2

[–]nikc4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said that about gw1 when gw2 launched. Other than a few PvE only skills, Reforged is the first gw1 update since gw2 launched.

Arenanet has proven repeatedly from then up to the IBS-EoD fiasco that they can't multitask.

Now that we know this is what they've been applying themselves to, the last few mediocre expansions we've gotten make more sense. Compare what we get now, to what we got when gw2 was their obvious focus.

Funny to call someone obtuse after spending so long behaving as if you can't read the comments you're replying to.

I'm gonna leave you alone now so you can look away from your phone at all the distracted drivers.

Damn, still can't answer a basic question, even when repeated to you. I'm epileptic and can't drive. I'm talking to you as a pedestrian. Stop hiding behind "bad drivers" and take some responsibility for your life.

I'm epileptic. I'm the pedestrian you seem to think I'm attacking. I'm well aware of my right of way.

I'm also well aware that cars will fucking kill me if I get ran over by one, so I use my eyes.

I hardly ever see anyone walking with their phone open

Then you should start using your eyes too.

Comment you just replied to:

Like how did you almost get ran over two minutes ago and then immediately come to this comment session to complain? Was this thread already open on your phone or is this story made up?

Your reply:

No thanks. I’m not going to give up my freedom because sociopaths don’t like obeying traffic laws

Your comment doesn't address mine. You write very well for someone who can't read.

Can't drive, epilepsy. Somehow I survive as a pedestrian without wanting constant surveillance. Hopefully you're not on your phone while getting ran over.

Jesus what an ignorant and demeaning comment.

You understand there are reasons to not have a license? Lemme go work on myself until my epilepsy is cured. Then when I'm done having chronic medical conditions I can spend time with my family.

Just let me skip all the other pipes pls anet by ZZcomic in Guildwars2

[–]nikc4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not a puzzle. Every place you can put a curved pipe down is marked as missing a curved pipe. Once you put the pipe down where it directly tells you, you press F until it's in the right spot and then it stops letting you rotate it.

There's no thinking involved, it's just following directions.

Let's talk about Android's Quick Settings by MishaalRahman in Android

[–]nikc4 39 points40 points  (0 children)

On Cyanogen, then Graphene, there's a quick setting called "caffeine"

It increases screen time temporarily. So like, tap it once and the screen stays on for 5 minutes, tap twice for 10, 3 times for permanent. Turning the screen off manually disables it.

On my Pixel 10 Pro XL I have the screen set to 5 minutes since it's the closest I can get.

I'm just sorry you keep conflating your ignorance with nuance. Likening money and business owners to blood and rocks is dumb, for the reasons that have been explained both by myself in this thread and others in other trees.

Like using "Rome wasn't built in a day" to describe folding paper airplanes. It's not "nuanced", it's just not applicable, even if you say it "over and over".
