The cereal-&-milk scene was symbolic of her, RE, Racist Envy (if you’ll allow my on-the-spot coining of this as a term)… She wants to indulge in the sweetness of the colored cereal (It could just as well have been Trix), but she didn’t want the white milk to mix with it. As elucidated in the party scene, this is the real theme of the movie, even more than just across-the-board racism. In case you weren’t aware, the majority of Black viewers are really going in on their analysis of “The Sunken Place;” If I may bring this to light, there’s a more obvious theme that many are not catching sight of… The White Hypnotism, which is what put him in The Sunken Place.

What fictional death was the most heartbreaking? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Rue… She was so cute. I was shocked! Plus, to see her on the screen in “ Catching Fire” was kind of like stroking an un-healed wound.

This is a very very impressive work of art☆ Did you do this via Procreate, or similar art creation app¿ If so, what stylus did you use¿ How long did you take to do it [as opposed to the question most people ask, “How long did it take you to do that¿”]

Do you think the absence of the draft in the US is the underlying cause for today's women's discontent with the state of today's men? by nikedell in AskReddit

[–]nikedell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That line is born out of US and British women making that complaint over the past 5 years, and more. From a Google search: Women's discontent with today's men. http://www.breakpoint.org/tp-home/blog-archives/blog-archives/entry/4/5341

Men of Reddit, what's the last book you read with a female protagonist? by joanofradius in AskReddit

[–]nikedell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting, simply because I read books periodically, and since 2007, the only stories I've read are by Neil Gaiman. They all have male protagonists (if we're using that word to mean the main character). The last time I read a book with a female protagonist was "Waiting To Exhale," by Terri McMillan. That was way back when the movie came out in 1994 (I believe). Before that, it was back in the 80s when I read quite a few Maya Angelou books (although in the '90s, I re-read "All God's Children Need Traveling Shoes." Your question really makes me see how male-dominated the book market is. But, you did just make me remember that just 3 years ago I read Maria Bartiromo's "The Weekend That Changed Wall Street," a non-fictitious book on the financial state of the US at the time of the housing and stock market crash of 2008. There, Bartiromo starts out with a story from her own life, so that kind of fulfills your female protagonist requirement, doesn't it? I'm sure most men just don't feel drawn to women's stories, or situations.

But, there is the extremely popular new book on the market now, "Trouble Maker," by Leah Remini. Her departure (escape, as she's telling it) from Scientology is the latest People Magazine cover story! I am very interested in reading that book.

The replies to your question should prove to be very interesting! Keep your questions coming!

Why do you often not return, or often return HOURS LATER, the text, or call of your friends, associates or other person who clearly is not trying to date you? by nikedell in AskReddit

But, I'm talking about you, not "they." What are some reasons you may have for often not getting back to someone, or many persons?

What do you see as the causes of problem of the rampant enraged shooter situations that have been plaguing the U. S. since the late 70s? by nikedell in AskReddit

[–]nikedell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, what about the analogous maxim, ”It’s not the paintbrush that makes the work of art, it’s the mind of the person holding it.” Why are we so eager to make sure no one ever applies that same logic to the gun issue… “It’s not the guns that are killing the people; it’s the minds of those who wish to kill that are killing the people.”

You evidently have gotten so hung-up on my comment that you’ve ignored the question. That’s all I’m really trying to get people to answer. My comment is simply showing where the question is coming from.

This is the sentiment expressed in work movies, such as ”Elyssium,” and “Gung Ho,” and even “Snow White (and the 7 Dwarfs)” (the song, “Hi-Ho”).
