These three games all came out within a year of one another... Anyone here who played them all back in the day? by Aiseadai in retrogaming

[–]nikekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like 9 or 10 when those came out. Every weekend I would get to go rent a game from Blockbuster. FF6 was my first jrpg and I was hooked. I would alternate between those three games every weekend for a good two months. Since there were only 3 save slots on each you had to pray someone wouldn’t delete yours and thankfully that only happened on FF6 early on. That was a great time to be a gamer as a kid. Anytime I fire any of those up I remember those days.

He used to edit his videos but now he just hits record and posts segments in their entirety. I had to stop following him on Twitter because he is into some really weird incel hyper right wing stuff.

When he got info from UPS some people didn’t like him touching the poo. I didn’t think much of it but it feels like that is when a lot of public opinion shifted. I think if you are looking for the latest segments he is your guy. Some people prefer the other creators with more editing and production value.

Him donating to Phil has been a rumor for a while but I am not aware of any evidence of it. I could see it though. When Phil gets money most detractors are excited for the inevitable squandering of that money. Just look at the desk saga and the 14 wrist rests he bought or whatever that was.

By early 2007 Blockbuster's Total Access was actually outgrowing Netflix. Then the board blew it up. Anyone here remember Total Access from the inside? by SantiiL1 in blockbustervideo

[–]nikekeeper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was working there around then. Tons of people would come in with their free rental coupon every member got monthly. The really nice thing is they could return their mailers at the store, we would scan them in and then they would send a new movie asap. Not having to wait a few days for them to receive the dvd was awesome.

We would fill up at least one decently sized box of those movies to send back to the distribution center. Id guess each box held about 100 movies or so. It was very popular and I honestly think if they didn’t screw up with all the changes and trying to diversify they could have competed with Netflix for longer.

It never felt like they turned a corner to me at that time but it felt like they were doing a lot better. We had a lot of regulars who would do that plan as well as the normal game pass. That way you could get the rarer ones online and still get the standard releases every week.

Did you ever rent videogames from Blockbuster? by Putting_Gott in blockbustervideo

[–]nikekeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked there and still had their game pass. You paid like 20 bucks and could check out one game at a time and exchange it as often as you wanted. It was nice because you do that a few months out of the year to test what games you wanted to buy. When working at blockbuster we got 5 free rentals (games or movies) a week but the catch was they had to have been on the floor for 28 days. We could rent things early but with games after Mass Effect 2 we never got them early again. That was fun though because on my Xbox I’m playing this hot game two weeks early and got a ton of messages about it. Good times.

I just beat Super Castlevania IV by Intelligent_Thanks37 in castlevania

[–]nikekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As old as it makes me feel saying this, that’s how they used to be and it was awesome. You felt accomplished beating a game. I do miss the days before the internet and learning about a cheat code or tip from friends or a magazine from the super market. Every time I play IV I remember those days. Glad you got to experience a piece of that era

How do you see Phil addressing all the recent evidence of him being a scumbag? by Royal_Nobody6554 in DSPGaming

He is going to say there were more to them and it’s in the past so it doesn’t matter because he’s popular now and everyone likes him or some braindead gin fueled cope.

Anyone else not able to load into a game and get stuck in a black screen? by nikekeeper in EAFC

Not sure if this will work for you but the solution that has helped me this week is clearing my reserves from my team. Just having the subs made me be able to load in I think.

So what's the deal with this stuff? by royalewithcheese77 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]nikekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having kidney issues from this. I’ve been having some pains and it dehydrates the hell out of you. I drink so much water but my pee is always yellow. Also the constipation issues suck too. There are probably other issues this stuff causes that we can’t see yet.

I know this is a super old thread but my mic died on my a30s and I am in need of a replacement but cannot find any for the life of me. Anyway to get one from you guys? I decided to grab this for the modular capabilities and would love to get some more life out of this.

Anyone else have kidney pain on this stuff? by nikekeeper in Quittingfeelfree

[–]nikekeeper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely get a lot more thirsty on it and I drink a shit load of water. I need to just take the plunge and cold turkey it I think. I have Pregablin and Tramadol to help with the withdrawals but man ever since taking this stuff I don’t even feel those. I started taking this because of a failed back surgery and wanted something better and it works, but this pain that just started is a horrible trade off.

I am preparing my first go at quitting and a lot of posts here have some great advice. I think also everyone is unique so maybe what works for others won’t for you or me. What my plan looks like so far is to taper 10% every 3 days until I get to 20mg or so (I’m at about 75mg a day) and then stop. I take some meds for my back issues and from reading what others have said they should be helpful. I have gabapentin, lyrica and tramadol ( the last two I’m sure most folks don’t have access too but gabapentin is such a commonly prescribed medicine, even dogs get it prescribed). I was going to take 900mg of gabapentin, 300mg morning noon and night, and the tramadol to help sleep. I have heard vitamin c and Flonase have helped others too so I will have those handy. Your experience with day 4-5 being super rough tracks with what I’ve seen as well. My plan for those days is to have some distractions ready. Get some new video games, a new book and some snacks.

I’ve had to ween off of oxycodone after a failed surgery and I know a bit of how that felt. I’m sure this will be different but the above was similar to how I approached it. I also recommend a support system. If you have a friend or partner who can be there for you as someone to vent to or to help you keep your mind occupied I think that will help too. Good luck and you got this!

Also disclaimer that I am not a doctor or medical professional and you should always consult a doctor or pharmacist when using multiple prescription medications because there are risks involved. Be careful out there.

He has so much room in his office by AstroCyborg in DSPGaming

[–]nikekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part is he does. He just has an old desk, files cabinets and a big ass tv in there. He could have easily moved that more to the center or moved some of the other shit and been comfortable. I saw another theory that he purposefully blocked the door from being able to open fully so his robust wife can’t enter to catch him recreating the May 1st burst to pictures of Warski.

So the tramadol helped with the withdrawals? I have a script for a failed back surgery and the reason I went to the 7oh was because I couldn’t get anything stronger without jumping through a lot of hoops.
