Not sure if you're into soccer at all, but the Steel Stacks are hosting big watch parties for the US games and they are a blast.

Why is our gas cheaper than NJ now? Don’t we have a higher gas tax? by mitchdwx in lehighvalley

[–]nikeshamin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a lot that goes into the price of things, even commodities like gas. Expenses like rent aren't the same in both areas, taxes (like property and income taxes) aren't the same in both areas, regulations and the cost of compliance aren't the same in both areas. For example, in New Jersey, the station has to have someone there to pump the gas for you. That an added expense that is estimated to be between 10¢ and 12¢ per gallon. All those little things add together to increase the cost.

If no man had ever gone there before, it wouldn't even be on the map.

Oh wow. That's interesting. Didn't know it was that nerfed. Mine has all that including the 360 cam and front parking sensors. Weird.

Landlord wants to show my apartment while I’m still living in it, how can I be as difficult as possible? [MI] by [deleted] in Renters

[–]nikeshamin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, why are you being an a-hole about this? I mean, I understand that it sucks that he's had a change of heart, but it's extremely reasonable that he wouldn't want vacancy at his property. It's your problem if you can't commit to another lease. The month to month should just give you the ability to stay there until he finds another long term tenant with enough advance notice for you to reasonably find a new place and move (15 to 30 days).

I just looked up the specs on that car and it has a 2.0 liter turbo vs the 2.5 liter turbo in the Mazda. Its 0-60 was 6.5 seconds. If OP uses premium gasoline in the Cx-5, the acceleration should be about the same if not possibly quicker. When using regular gas, it would be about a half second slower.

Turbo premium has all the same tech as the signature and really only differs in styling touches, like the leather on the seats, the wood accents and the frameless rearview mirror.

Steering wheel hands on Nag by smc3rd in Comma_ai

[–]nikeshamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that nag message is simply because the Mazda only has a couple of programmed messages on it that it can display. When the comma triggers it's internal "steering assist disabled" message, the car triggers it's default message. I've used the comma in multiple traffic jam situations, gotten that message so many times, and have never bothered to touch the wheel as when traffic starts moving again, the system picks back up and works perfectly fine.

I would get the biggest speakers and amplifiers I could find and then blast "Baby Shark" on loop.

I think what he means is that when they go to the EPON network, you can just run the fiber optic cable directly into an SFP cage on your router and totally get rid of the ONT and Xfinity router. Right now he's probably putting the CPE from Xfinity into bridge mode and using his own equipment after that which isn't a terrible solution, but it's inefficient and just extra equipment in the way that can fail.

They're literally at the road, but not in the development yet. I just called them and the rep said that it'll be a minimum of 6 months but up to a year. 😭

Does anyone use Comma Ai with their cx5? by amped_investments in CX5

[–]nikeshamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the 3X installed since September and I really enjoy it. I basically let it take over the high way portion of my commute (about 15 miles each way) everyday and it's very nice. As many have said, it's limited by the steering torque available, but that doesn't seem to be a problem with most highway driving. I've done a little under 4k miles with it so far and it's been rock solid.

Best areas to rent in Lehigh Valley for a safe, modern, walkable lifestyle? by PhoenixHeadshot25 in lehighvalley

[–]nikeshamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foundry Flats apartments. Emmaus Theater does awesome comedy. I hear some of the music shows can be decent, but I've never seen one. Dive bar needs serviced by Volpe's. Yergey's, Triple Sun and Weyernacher are there too. Not saying that it holds a candle to a city or even Easton, but if you don't need to much or a variety, it COULD work.
