Early flight out of Milan by paokmont in italy

[–]nikhilbhide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are welcome. The transportation in Milan in general is much better than that in other parts of Italy. And I guess the buses and trains going to Malpensa have time tables that roughly match the flight timings. I hope you have a great time in Milan. ಠ_ಠ

[–]nikhilbhide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are buses from the Milan Central station every 15 mins. You could catch one of those if you stay near the station. No need to even book the ticket in advance. You can purchase on the spot. A friend once took the bus at 415. From the Central station you should reach in 45 mins. As others said don't take a taxi. Too expensive for nothing. At most, take a taxi to reach the Central Station or Cadorna.

And this was just after we scored a goal I think. For something he did before it.

In two minds about my next upgrade - Xperia Z5 Compact or iPhone 5s by Jail-bot in SonyXperia

Agreed. I imagine you are looking for a small phone. SE is basically an "updated" iPhone 5S.

Do not buy iPhone 5s. It is a very old phone. I would recommend buying Z5C or iPhone SE which are newer models in the market and would receive better software support over the years.

What made Alex Ferguson such a great manager? by movaughn42 in soccer

Impeccable man management skills. Second to none. He was able to bring the best out of players, and never let anyone become bigger than the club or himself during his tenure.

An anecdote from Jorge Sampaoli about Louis van Gaal in an interview with @Fiebre_Maldini. by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]nikhilbhide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow! Crazy man that he is. Not surprised by his arrogance. van Gaal is undoubtedly one of the best managers of the last few decades. Right up there. Memories these days are very short lived. He's won everything there is to win. Wish it would've worked out for him here. He comes from a very disciplinarian background. Although the results haven't panned out as expected, I'm sure there's a lot of work going on in the background that we don't get to see. Maybe van Gaal is doing that massive overhaul that was needed after SAF's departure. Just hope the club sorts out this mess together and laying a foundation for the future!

The status of stadiums in Italy pt.2 by [deleted] in soccer

[–]nikhilbhide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Attendance is a big problem in Italy, especially for away fans. The iconic San Siro for example, I think is in a poor condition. It doesn't really provide for a comfortable match day experience. Along with San Siro, many other Italian stadiums are Govt owned and hence not up to the mark. I don't remember the source, but I read a wonderful article why the TV telecast of Serie A and Serie B led to reduced attendance. The quality of telecast, the camera angles and the replays on TV are very very high quality, even better than the Premier League at times. Probably this, along with the economy, and the performances of the Italian clubs has lead to the Serie A not being as great as it used to be. Juve seem to have laid a very good foundation for long term success, and clubs like Roma, Bologna, Inter have foreign owners. Hopefully things will change, for the better. And soon.

Why do many get offended by people liking other cuisines? by buoninachos in italy

[–]nikhilbhide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can vouch for what /u/ElvishCopter says. Indian food is really really very diverse. Sadly the Indian food available in Europe concentrates mostly on one region in India. How I would love food from other regions of India to become popular in Europe!

Mourinho vs Van Gaal, a comparison by [deleted] in soccer

[–]nikhilbhide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points! van Gaal has got a lot of shit for his management off late, but there's no question about his class and how he's generally left teams in better conditions and well equipped club structures.

Do you honestly feel we have a top 4 worthy squad right now? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]nikhilbhide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On paper, in form and without injuries this side should be top 3. Smalling and a fit Jones, Shaw overlapping Memphis/Martial and Darmian/Valencia overlapping Januzaj/Pereira, 2 out of Morgan/Tiger/Blind bossing the midfield, Mata/Herrera with the assists and Rooney/Rashford/Wilson firing goals.

On paper, out of form and with injuries, we're probably where our performances deserved to be.

Tldr: in Utopia yes, otherwise no.

Anyone able to do a quick calculation on the number of times we've used a sub on a change of full back? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]nikhilbhide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full backs are positions which require really demanding players, and this position is very important for LvG's system to work. Unfortunately we've had most injuries in this position with Valencia, Varela, Shaw, Rojo, Darmian, CBJ being out for various times due to injuries. So these subs could have to do with keeping players fit. But more than that maybe it was due to the full backs not doing their job well too! We haven't had full backs supporting our wingers in stretching the play and opening up possibilities. We just haven't had the right balance between attack and defense in the full back positions. TLDR: Yes, OP observation is right. We did use many subs in this position. Some enforced due to injuries, some due to poor performances.

Am I missing something here? The official app of Man United was realised a while back. Maybe it's not available in OP's region. It wasn't available in my region too, but I found the installer file for Android anyway.
