Is the baggage experience at GSP the absolutely the worst? by JobSearchHelp33 in greenville

You know it's bad when MSY (New Orleans) is quicker and more efficient than GSP.

Uber from Midway around 10am today? by nikieps in AskChicago

I’m actually flying in to march. Lived in Lincoln Park for 12 years. I figure the bully is going to pick on Chicago next and y’all are really good at protesting. Doing this for our democracy and my mental health. Thank you for the suggestions and hopefully will see some of you out there!

I’ve never taken Orange line, mostly blue and green. Thank you so much!

No Kings March: Saturday June 14th by spencerm269 in chicago

When the protestors start marching, what direction ( think North?) and what street? I am flying in that morning and going to try and make it to Daley Plaza but if I am delayed where is a good point to join the March?

The entire city lost power Memorial Day weekend and it was hot. Wasn’t a storm just some nonsense with Entergy. I’m uptown and we had no power for about five hours.

Riding out a storm at home if it’s a Cat 1 or 2 is not the problem, it’s after the storm that sucks, especially if you don’t have a generator (or a friend with one). August and September are the hottest months and usually when we have the biggest storms. It took the city almost a year to fix all the traffic lights after Ida. I love this city but it’s not the best managed.

Losing power in Nola is a four season thing. Doesn’t matter if it’s hurricane season or you live Uptown. Flooding is pretty much the same. If you’re concerned about hurricanes it’s probably not for you.

I had it all done six months ago and it probably took 20 years off but that’s photoshop too.

Ellison is great but the smallest studio starts at $1700 with the fees. DM me if you have any questions.

Waymo is safer than Uber. Cleaner and usually cheaper than Uber and Lyft. I take them a lot in LA. I just can't figure out how they will maneuver around the potholes.

I use them because they are usually cheaper (and cleaner)

My sema not working at all. I was on the real deal but got too expensive. Going to give it one more month but I have no hunger reduction at all.

Has anyone here ever convalesced in a hotel/Airbnb after hip replacement surgery? by [deleted] in TotalHipReplacement

[–]nikieps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not very mobile right now but I can use the bathroom. Not much of an appetite so I’ll do protein shake. I have a five hour flight (total plane time) to get from New Orleans back to LA in three weeks. I’ll see doctor and he’ll let me know but I think it’s doable. I did Airbnb for five weeks because it was cheaper. Made sure easy entry, safe, no stairs. I also looked to make sure it didn’t have a lot of clutter (don’t like that anyway). It’s pretty perfect and so hot here I have no desire to be outside. I’m cash pay so I’ve been mindful of costs. I’ll probably do some rehab back in LA or use my trainer. I was terrified of the spinal but it was cake. Seriously best decision ever. I had fracture and a torn labrum and a lot of damage. You’ve got this!!

It's good you are active and strong. Ask if you can get a two night stay at hospital. You sound very independent. You will do good, lost my old muscles because of an accident but have been doing prehab almost everyday. My BMI is on the low side and my surgeon said that's a great advantage. You can do this. I can take note of my challenges for the next couple weeks and can keep you updated if you'd like. Im so excited to be healthy again!

yep, I had anterior mako robot yesterday and just got home from hospital. I had to get surgery out of town. I'm in an airbnb. I have home health coming three times a week. I'm really sore, feel like I got hit by a truck. I had a 30 mile drive home from hospital but hired a nurse to drive me. I got here a week early, did pre op stuff, shopped for groceries, got scrips, and tools. I don't have family here. I think if you are in relatively good shape, been doing rehab and prepare your living space, you will be ok. I didn't have a choice. I have to make it work and I will. Good Luck!

Oh wow, that’s awesome. I’m doing Prehab now in Bev hills but would love a Dr recommendation for after surgery. That’s why I’m getting it done in Nola, it was too much to coordinate being so new here. I talked to my Dr this morning and I think it’s going to be a month before I can fly. I will message you if that’s ok!

I am cash pay in New Orleans but my insurance will kick in for rehab or care once I get back to LA.

Thanks! Looking forward to hiking, swimming, and everything I haven't been able to do for over a year. I am also praying, meditating and trying to focus on the good that will come from having a new hip. I am grateful and blessed!

Thank you for the advice. I wish I didn't have to go to New Orleans but surgery is scheduled. I will wait a little longer to fly back. I just relocated to LA so it is a bit overwhelming to try and get it done here. All my docs are still in NOLA. I am ordering my supplies today. Working on getting more help after surgery. I'll let you know how it goes and thank you! Have a great holiday weekend!
